Thank you Ceons for pointing that outHis point is a lot of stuff were not planned for and are still happening. Like auto attack and materia system. Just like that it does not matter if they did not plan to implement a feature. They can do it now, along side all the other features they were not planning to add but now they have to cause the game sucked at release. It though my point was quite obvious... i guess I'm just overestimating some people!
lol you don't make sense at all. You referenced FFXIII and now both of you are completely ignoring it as if it never happened.
No, your point was not obvious, there was no point.
Let me break it down for you maybe this way you will understand it ... maybe.... i hope....
Someone said they don't need to make any changes to FFXIV's design to add jump as an interactive option while near clifs as FFXIII, which is using the same graphic engine "Crystal tools", had that feature.
So i was pointing out that FFXIII when it was designed(talking about maps and level design), had jumping off cliffs in mind and so the maps in that game were made to support such a feature.
Now unless FFXIV is a port of FFXIII and they re-used the whole game's coding, that means they would need to re-design maps(code the algorithms necessary for getting a "Jump" button when near a cliff) in order to have this working.
You thought you were clever and try to make an argument against jumping by saying "you said it yourself the game was not designed for it" to which i replied " a lot of the upcoming changes are features that were not planned for and for which the game was not designed for, yet we are getting them very soon. Thus rendering your argument invalid and making you look stupid. I can't blame you for getting upset... it's ok.![]()

Oh im sorry, my mistake, you should have been more specific if you were trying to make me look dumb.Let me break it down for you maybe this way you will understand it ... maybe.... i hope....

Is that really what your intentions were?
you DO realize that I am on the dont-give-a-shit boat. I'm simply stating why they dont need to implement it NOW. And they wont, so this battle is won.
For someone who is on the dont-give-a-shit boat, you do seem to lean on the "against jumping" side. Especially when you say they should implement stuff the game was not designed for. The same could be said about a lot of features that are planned for the game..... i think your logic is quite out of place especially in a game like FFXIV which's lacking so much.Oh im sorry, my mistake, you should have been more specific if you were trying to make me look dumb.

When did it occur to you that i was against jumping? I am solely against the implementation of jumping at this point in time. You have failed to answer my questions throughout this whole thread, so therefor, you have most likely failed to understand my stance on this subject. You simply assumed I was another person that was against jumping, but i assure you, you have misunderstood and ignored that fact for about 5 pages straight. For someone who is on the dont-give-a-shit boat, you do seem to lean on the "against jumping" side. About implementing stuff that a game is not designed for.. well, thats why a map needs Redesigning, thats why a battle system needs redesigning, thats why the class system needs redesigning (or enhancement, rather). Because the dev team doesn't believe that this game was designed to fail, which it has, and it the main cause for the major revisions.
So, in order to implement jump, they are most likely redesigning maps, so that this game is designed for jumping.
Is that easier to understand?
When you say things like these below...
The reason is simply because they have more important priorities at the moment. They may have even took some staff from the map re-design team to work on other more urgent aspects.
This whole thread is debating whether jumping should be added or not and not if it should be added NOW, it's already been stated that it's low priority for now so we all know that already.
