While I support the idea that jumping is of low-priority to the dev team right now, I do not understand how jumping implicates "hand-holding". Could you explain what you mean in detail? The way I understand it, adding a new way to traverse the game-world != making things easier, it's something completely different.
By your way of thinking, adding chocobos and airships would be "hand-holding", too, so would you be able to clarify what you really meant?
