Talk about necropost.
I'll repeat myself since my last one : jumping is good if it have a purpose. "Because all other mmorpgs have it" isn't a purpose.
Now, in this maps don't have purpose, since they are implementing jumping i hope it have

This wouldn't be so difficult if the people against jumping weren't presenting asinine reasons like "I hate seeing people jump" and "Jumping makes me think of WoW, and because WoW is the devil I don't want it".No, they don't want "an MMO platformer" they just want sensible functionality. Having jump does not mean needing to jump all the time. People aren't looking for Super Mario 3-D Land: The MMO Version. WoW has jumping, and it's occasionally needed/useful but is not over-used by the developers. WoW is not a platformer game.
Both sides of this debate love taking their arguments to extremes, how about a little sensibility around here?
Having jumping != "platforming." The ability to jump does not automatically make a game a "platformer" game.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
the same people for it keep stating "i should be allowed to bunny hop" and so on too, so its no different

Considering that I'd want jumping to jump up ledges, hop over fences and not having to run around every pebble I see on the road, having jump still makes far more sense than being against it.

Adding a real time battle system would be excellent. And I'd personally love to see that over jumping. What, like adding auto-attack?
Oh, how revolutionary that is.
Give us jump so I can have fun jumping over stuff until they can implement a stupid auto-attack feature that will have absolutely zero enjoyment value.
All auto-attack will do is make the game even more bot-friendly.
Jump will actually make the game more fun, accessible, and basically more TRAVERSIBLE!
Ever heard of a thing called fall damage? Besides, last I heard there was a map redesign anyway.
It's like you're not even reading what I'm typing.
I KNOW about the redesign. But the structure of the CURRENT WORLD is not propperly structured for it.
The point I'm trying to make is that the world redesign will have to be focoused around the idea of jumping to avoid issues like being trapped or entering areas you're not supposed to be or otherwise making the feature about as usefull as an emote you can use at the push of a button.
You guys cannnnn...... jump to your death. No jumping please.
