I think many people are assuming that 'jump' will be like the lesser quality korean MMO clones with thier 3 x your height jump spam abilities...

Personally when I think of a FFXIV jump I think more like a real world hurdles jump or vaulting off the rails ...



I believe this would be a win for the '' immersion argument ''

Roes, elvann and highlanders would just step onto the rail
Miqo's and lowlanders much like the picture
Lalas would hoist and slide over

Something like that ^^

Which would fit contextual jumping just fine.

I unlocked DRG this past week, and the first ability they gave me was "Jump". A few levels later, I got "Elusive Jump". At the end, I got "Dragonfire Dive" which is also a jump ability.

You got three of them and one of them even spews fire!

These abilities are exclusive to a job and do not in any way aid in navigation or anything not related to combat.

They can keep invisible walls to stop you from jumping over a rock all the same.

I don't understand why anyone would be for invisible walls in a game where they want immersion, but sure.

I like how people try to make it sound as though Dragoon's Jump and the literal action Jump are the same thing.
