This thread is a little offensive right now. I'll give my reasons why~
Three groups~
A: The people that adamantly want jump. ASAP
B: The people that don't want jump at all.
C: The people that are simply trying to explain that Square is planning a possible jump of unknown mechanics, but it is of lower priority as compared to battle mechanics and content.
This thread is offensive because GroupA seems to be putting everyone in GroupC with GroupB. This thread is becoming prejudice. Not all of the ones arguing about production times and priority are the ones who want "glowy weapons and Sephiroth fights~". Id say most of GroupC is leaning towards overall content and working game mechanics. I'm almost offended someone would imply that I want glowy weapons. D=

I wasn't talking about you, I was making a generalization of the people that say things from WoW are bad then suggest other things from WoW.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Actually. I don't mind his comment. I don't want to take sides on whether I want, or do not want jump. But if I see some large group of players bunny hoping around a huge HNM in a circle, one of two things may happen. I hang myself with my mouse cord, or I die of suffocation due to extreme laughter. These are things I'm sure others would enjoy, but I don't want to give them that kind of gratification.

Take the guy hat posted the anti-jump thread. "Let's take a page from WoW" - "omgosh if try add jump people will jump! They'll gang up on us and just jump! They'll mash that jump button until I lag out and dc!"
Then he posts in a circus thread, says how cool it would be if the circus visited different towns. Ok, im going to apply his logic to this. - "Guys let's take a page from WoW, it has the darkmoon faire - if they add this people will go there and just... I don't even know but it will be bad."

OK, I understand it's a hard taskYou have to understand that it's more than just adding in a movement. You have to design the entire freaking game map to SUPPORT jumping. Right now it doesn't. You can't just add in a jump movement and call it fixed.
I know very well more than one person is working on it, in fact I know they have teams working on various things at once. Hence why I said "they".
You have to understand that it is an INCREDIBLE amount of work to add in jump, as I just explained it. The entire maps have to be designed to work in jump.
I REALLY would love SE to explain, in details, how adding jump would work. Then Maybe, just MAYBE people like you and Evangela will FINALLY understand why it's not in "High priority" at the moment.
Edit:
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against jumping, if anything I'm neutral about it. I'd rather them get bigger issue fixed first.
so they better get start now
Nobody said it was going to be easy
You expect SE to only do the easiest, laziest things. Ha.
4242402 indy MMOs can implement ten times the stuff SE implements.
