    24man group composition

    I haven't done much research, but I've seen some saying there will be times splitting into 3 groups...

    So will the typical setup be 6tanks 6 heals and 12dps? That seems like a lot of tanks. I'd hate to see people having to sit out though if there's tight dps checks. If you have say 3 groups doing 8 man content, and that doesn't translate to them teaming up to do 24man's I can see some problems.

    So, am I worrying about something that isn't an issue? I know in rift almost every boss required different amounts of tanks healers etc, but you could easily swap between them whenever.

    I'm under the impression that the 24 mans will be a lot like LFR in WoW, which in case you are not familiar with it, involves people randomly queuing up, mashing buttons for an hour, and then receiving loot; in short don't over think it.

    A part from jokes, I hope there will be some nice mechanics that have you to split up during dungeons (not necessarily 3 full parties, but also a group with physical attackers, one group with magics, or something like that) in order to unlock gates and advance.

    Something like 1.0 CC when you had to syncro-kill the right mob for the party to move on.

    Crystal Tower is meant to be DFable, so there shouldnt be a problem in hard dps checks. No idea about other viable compositions. Although i do hope for some more varied compositions (imo 6 tanks seems like an overkill unless there will be zerg fate style fights), and include them in DF.

    Well, he already said 24 man raids = 3 Parties of 8 doing different sections, so it'll be the usual setup - we'll just more than likely get thrown into the same instance as 2 other parties.

    As far as I am aware, 24M isn't really 24M, but instead 8M x 3. I guess it's because they just can't allow for it for some reason.

    The splitting into three groups is only part of CT, if I recall correctly. There is a point in the raid where the three groups meet back up and work together.

    Though as another poster said above - Yoshi has stated they've deliberately tuned the fights waaaaay down so that it's doable via dungeon finder. So it's not going to be all that complex.

    You'd think that, but remember, theres a lot of people who are 50 who have no idea how to dodge or even the rare few who don't know their job, causing easy fights to become hard.

    Heh, good point. I suppose only time will tell. I am looking forward to having new content to run, even if it is oddly placed in progression versus its release date.

    How i understand it they only tuned it down from "1 person do an error = party wipe" to "1 person do an error = no party wipe"
