Monks and dragoons can increase others damage as well, do they need their damage reduced since they are a support/hybrid dps class?
Heck, monks have one of the best tank survival skills in game with mantra, they need to have their dps reduced to be bottom tier.

Imho the best solution is to boost BRD damage by a good 10-15% to be on par of BLM and MNK and introduce a cast bar to the rotation to remove the "easy pew pew while moving" factor.
In these MMO's its when Devs start "messing" around with stuff trying to make people stop QQing about it, that they really screw things up. They should just realize that no matter what they do, there are going to be people QQing (usually the same people that are impossible to make happy). The game is fun and engaging, so just get over yourself and enjoy it.
I agree with the OP. It would be nice to have more insight on what the devs are planning.
Additionally, there are obliviously a lot of people that have not played in Coil yet or understand the mechanics. Bards are brought for two reasons, T1 mini ADS for silence rotation, T2 boss ADS for silence rotation, and you need two physical DPS for Turn 4 so it aligns nicely. Songs are rarely sung (aside from FR) because of the -20% DPS. You simply can't afford less damage due to mechanics of the fights in coil.
If they give other physical DPS classes a reliable silence like bards then it would make less sense to have two bards (or any) due to current bards dps. Other classes shine in coil where bards fall behind a bit (dps wise).
i don't like the way you say/write "whit" as in with. I only say this because if you want to be taken seriously you should promote yourself as someone that can have a valid discussion with another. This being said. I believe the true intention of the Bard is to support and thus they feel that the amount of damage they put out is far more then they anticipated for a support job. One of the biggest reasons they are looking into this is the "high risk, high reward" motto that mmos tend to follow. To reinforce the motto further. They are also trying to create a balance between range and melee which melee at this point lacks a high reward for their high risk. They chose to start the balance with the bard being that the bard is the only one that can move and fully execute dps rotations seems like the most logic point for me. Please do not misunderstand me i am not trying to bash on bards, just making my opinion on the matter known.
Agreed. I'm all for them making Bard harder to play (I actually encourage it). Just make the risk worth the reward (i.e more damage).
I had a nice long reply to this post, but I'm feeling a troll.
Bards seem op at ilvl 50. They seem mediocre at ilvl 80. Where do you think the loudest voices are coming from? My guess is that its the folks that think Titan HM needs a nerf too.
I think they made a very good job balancing the classes in 2.0, the only two that needs a fix asap are WAR (bring them close to PLD tank capabilities and DRG that need a little boost to reach the MNK endgame dps).
I really hope to see an official answer from the devs before the patch, atleast to understand if they are doing the "WoW way" (nerf based on # of whines on the forum) or as always the translation/way to handle information to the comunity was incorrectly handled. To the people bashing me for my english please forgive me, english is not my main language.
As today, i stopped buying AF2 pieces for my BRD. I was one of the best geared DD in my static, and with the other DD's getting on par/better geared then me i clearly see the difference in endgame DPS.

in the earlier stages of the game godstones werent so easily aquired. especially as an asmodian. you either god extremely lucky with a drop, which probably wasnt the case, or you pvpd high ranked enemies for a quest to get 1 godstone. "I win" buttons were sorc sleep skill timed with a nuke, archer naturally stun on crit (which was very consistent), tank defense buff, healer.... well, heal, chanter and glad naturally ability to knock down along with chanters buffs or glad ankle snare. and the ultimate "I win" button was the summoners endless chain of fears. none of these needed godstones and were naturally part of these classesIt didn't quite go like that. Sin had an "I win" button in a form of packing silencing (or paralyzing) godstones in both weapons. Initially they could literally mash their face on the keyboard and still win a 1v1 pvp fight. After ncsoft added that stun immunity sins indeed became a joke as they lost ability to stun-lock didn't have anything else to bring to the party.
