BARD NERF [requesting more details to the devs]

I doubt it so there is really no reason for your worry cause you will still be needed to sing. ^^

BRD has low damage as a DPS, if the damage is nerfed it's going to be a completely useless job for majority of the content. Useless for primal/AK/or just any lv 50 dungeons or maybe even coil. NONE of the songs in this game are as game breaking as FFXI BRD. MNK can replace the silence duty so BRD is not a must have. There is a difference between able to do 80% of other DPS damage and being useful due to utility, and only able to do 40% of other DPS damage and completely not worth the spot. COR in FFXI was a pretty bad job unless you need attack buff or 2hr reset, I don't want BRD to be COR No.2.

BRD's damage is just fine as it is, anymore damage nerf will kill the job. I played the job to be able to contribute DPS, not occupying a spot and leech win. If you want BRD to be "utility/support" only, give us game breaking buffs like marches like FFXI BRD.

Agreed. I'm all for them making Bard harder to play (I actually encourage it). Just make the risk worth the reward (i.e more damage).

I don't agree with this, MNK is your high risk high reward DPS, there should be an easy mode DPS dealing less damage than MNK so everyone can pick what they like.

From what I saw Yoshii said that BARD had too many offensive Cross-Class abilities which leads me to believe he is going to take away our Blood for Blood from LNC so that we cannot stack Hawks Eye (+DEX) and then Raging Strikes (+20% damage) and Blood for Blood (+20% damage). A +40% to damage on top of the DEX boost is really good on boss fights. For 20 seconds Bards can really push a lot of damage especially because it gets on our 2 DOTs as well for the duration. I hope they just add cast bars on a couple of abilities and not jack us up too bad.

Bard will be needed regardless of the nerf. MP/TP songs and foe requiem are too good not to have at least 1.

That being said if you bounce around to whatever is the "flavor of the month" class then yea you may want to pick a new one just in case

I think this is just all you. Our Brds are always on the top end of the meters, constantly running mp/tp song when needed, and have silences. I would take a bard in every group even if they did get a slight nerf. They are just too good to have. If you are at the bottom of dps then should probably look at your rotation and see what you're doing wrong

If they even reply, I'd imagine it will be something along the lines of "We never said BRD was being nerfed. Stop making threads like this".

You know, because nothing in the notes ever said "BRD nerf in 2.1!". It said they're a bit strong, but how does that translate into a nerf?

Though I do agree that people should always look at their damage rotations and try to improve. It is more likely your other dps classes that are not performing to potential if they are getting beaten by a bard, especially if they are running songs.

I suggest you to take a sit whit all the other dps and try to understad why BRDs (using songs) can outperform them. BRD currently is close to the bottom of the DPS chart
