I wont be using spint in any encounter in general, if you need sprint to avoid plumes, you either need to respond quicker or you need to improve your awareness. I am not playing casters, but the idea sprint cost no TP sounds really awful, especially when it comes to PvP.
This is why we have gap closers and escapes on melees. I personally don't see any issue with it, it's sort of annoying when I can't do it, but at the same time I see no real need for it.
Sprint using TP is going to break pvp. It's literally impossible for a melee character to hit a sprinting player because of the way hit detection and animations work in this game. If the enemy is outside of melee range before the attack animation plays, it is canceled.
Sprint should probably just not be usable in combat at all.
Was waiting for the blame it on Bard comment. Didn't take long at all.Heh. DoMs are limited by the fact they can't do a damned thing while sprinting. At least by the time my sprint finishes on DRG I have enough TP restored to begin fighting. What the TP cost does is keep BRDs from using Sprint as another off GCD cooldown and sprinting around arenas while firing.
That's kinda the point, Sprint is supposed to be your {|Run Away!|} skill. If a melee uses it, they lose dps capability for a bit, if a bard uses, same thing. If a mage uses it, they are running, so not doing any substantial dps anyway.
Either way, melee have gap closers and gap creators, which mages don't get. It's only fair that mages have access to something similar, and sprint was just there.
But that does not include the dot instant cast spells that can be done on the move.

Sprint is fine the way it is.
Adventure, that's the life for me!
