Let's think about this. These reviews came out around October 11. By the time October 11 came around, I was only rank 25, that's not nearly enough time to experience a significant amount of story material. They thought the cutscenes were nice, yes, but given more time with the game, they would have inevitably realized that the story in the game is total crap.

You mean your assertation that they are fixing the only thing that was praiseworthy? There was hardly anything that was praiseworthy about the game. What the new team is doing is taking the seeds of inspiration from the old FF14 and remaking it into a game that is better. Whatever the old team's goals and aspirations were, they screwed it up totally and YoshiP is doing his best to fix the mess.
