Oh, track 2 plays in-game, just take the ferry from Thanalan to Limsa Lominsa. It plays then....or at least it did for me.

What I really want is track 3....I love that track. WHERE DO I FIND IT????

Aside from that, back on topic:

I thought the Armoury system was only being streamlined, not totally destroyed and gone. The Job system will only be an additional layer; we still get our freedom to be what we want to be. At least, that's how I view it. The basis of the armoury system allowing freedom still won't be changed, unless they're changing it so you can't assign any other skills of other classes when you're in another class. In a Job, yes, it'll make sense to limit what you can assign, seeing as it's a more succinct profession, but as I see it, the CLASSES won't have their freedom changed.

But yes....this is what you get when the developers listen to the player-base. Armoury system may have been popular with the reviewers, but you look at the playerbase.... -looks at general discussion board with scores of topics on hating the armoury system-

The graphics....it seems like a double-edged sword. Perhaps some reviewers like it, or not, but it's one thing Yoshi-P will probably won't extensively manipulate. Mounts? -looks at the very bottom of the table in the latest letter-

Although, yes, there are issues that perhaps have not been even remarked on, such as the actions in battle, sheathing/unsheathing, pausing at troublesome times to cast/buff etc.

I can remark on more stuff, but it'll mostly turn into a hate-hate or flame-flame war with some people, so I'll rather keep it in.

The developers can't really do anything about it....they do one thing, the playerbase readies the uninstall click. They do another thing, the reviewers bombard the game with hate, and some of the playerbase click the button. It almost seems like a lose-lose situation for them, in terms of this forum's views anyhow.

This is also a good indication of Tanaka's vision. Keep in mind everything listed was likely to have been implemented by Feb or March.

When I ask myself "Would I rather have that list above? or would I rather have a new battle system?" I lean on the things in that article, and I know those things aren't thrown away but I would rather have a mail system now.

Also ask yourself, "What's the new battle system going to be like?"
I'd love to hear some of your answers.
The entire implementation of everything this game needs has been put on hold for this new battle system.
If someone asked me to describe what it will be like because they are interested in returning, my answer would be very limited.

I lie giddy at night thinking about the upcoming battle system revisions.

I love the direction Yoshida is bringing the game and I am in no way sad to see that Tanaka is no longer with us. With each change implemented I enjoy the game that much more.

Sure, I am a hardened ffxi veteran and there are those who flame based on the idea that this isn't ffxi-2 and anyone who loved it should just go back to the old game, but having played xi that doesn't exclude me from getting a say in what I want in ffxiv.

I never cared what critics and game reviewers wrote about games. They're all to often awfully theoretical and structurized in their approach while judging a game.

i care what everyone has said about the game including the trolls. each one of them has just as valid of an opinion of the game as we do here. the difference is we stayed to play so we found something good about the game even if it was only hope in the future.

It's not about reviewers, its about players. I for one like the direction things are going. The team seems to have some work to do rebuilding the games foundation before any of the other things are taken care of.

would you agree the reviewers have a major impact of the amount of players a game has? if a game has horrible reviews the game is likely not going to attract many players. the majority of people i know always check reviews before they purchase a game unless it is a day 1 game purchase. if a game says 3/10 on the review sites across the board i do not waste time or money on the game unless it is one of the games i just have to try out.

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer going to a game's website and/or message boards to see what features the game has and assess for myself if I want to try it or not. If I end up not liking the game, I simply have to cut my losses and look elsewhere. As you said, it's usually a game I simply have to try for myself.

I was reading 2-3 first of your paragraph and stop.
It just another I-DONT-LIKE-IT post and it boring.

They don't remake everything, just enhance it. make it better.
Armory system still here, with new job system attach.

This is what "Most" people want, it like election your president.
Some minor side have to accept major vote. this is democracy.

So stop complaining and post this kind of topic in forum.. wait and see how it work
But if you don't like it so much, stop playing this game and do something else.

That's where you're wrong. I wasn't complaining, and it's not a I don't like it post. Maybe you should exercise your back muscles so you can sit up straight long enough to read one post.

Your abs actually make you sit up straight. You use your back muscles to slouch (hence why people who slouch have back pain) and your "core" muscles (mostly your abs) to sit up straight. This is because your spine, when straight, has to have your abs at the base to keep it straight rather than crooked.

    THE MORE YOU KNOW~
