I dunno if I'd want to seem them brought back full blown, but perhaps some tongue-in-cheek reference, or one single NPC tucked away somewhere, or parts of one that's been destroyed, etc. Tataru seems like a blatant tip fo the hat to Tarutarus seeing as Tataru is a Lalafell ;p The references to other Final Fantasies are too numerous to count aside from the obvious "ermagerd the races look the same" bits, not to mention the pop culture references. They could easily get away with one cardian making its way into Eorzea.

Cardians are Automations-ish just like...Automations They could fit in anywhere to be honest.
