I Would like Chocobo only mounts and if it came to be another mounts i'd like them to be story based or terrain based where only those mounts could be taken there because of the terrain

While I understand reasons for more types of mounts in mmo, in FF mmo I couldn't care less for any other type than chocobos, that's probobly cos of Final Fantasy fetish ;D

Anyway my idea would be different races and types of chocobos, like for example:

a) Battle Chocobo = massive muscular more, deff but slower.

b) Race Chocobo = slim light, and fast.

I think mounts beyond Chocobos are a good idea because, as other posts have pointed out, colors can only go so far even with customization with armor, saddles, etc. Mounts beyond Chocobos need to be creatures familiar to the FF series though, in my opinion. Wyverns, Coeurl, Adamantoise, smaller scale Behemoth; creatures like those who have been in several FF games throughout the years.

This may be stretching it, but the summons that have followed along the game as well (Ifrit, Oden (the horse part, like an Ixion in X), Bahamut,Fenrir, etc) could possibly be mounts? In the last Letter from the Producers, they said something about an Ifrit battle - perhaps defeating him would grant him as a summon to be mounted? I'm not sure how well it sounds on paper and how much better it would translate in-game, but it's just me putting in my two cents.

Hmmm having mounts (w/e kind) with the option to attach a cart/let 2 people ride would be neat, and look alot better than auto-following.

I am pretty much OK with whatever ideas people have and whatever SE wants to implement for mounts and the mount system itself. The only strong feelings I have on the subject are that I never want to see mounted combat (in your face Chocobo Knight wannabes LOL). I just don't like the concept of that at all.

I want to ride a big fluffy wolf, a raptor, a young behemoth, chocobo!
And maybe some useless fun mount, a worm creature maybe, something slow and silly.

I hope that we not only have chocobo breeding but also upgrades, like a chocobo cart, armor and so on.

I also like the idea of mounts multiple people can ride. Like a giant tortuous bus

Bring in airships, and controllable boats. I want to explore the many island or Eorzea.
