[dev1082] The (un)Official Mount System Thread

I've played FFXIV since the last alpha, bought CE on launch and only took a small break and even I think things other than chocobos are good. How is this "WoW with Chocobos"? Just because a game has more than one type of mount doesn't automatically make it WoW. You know WoW didn't create mounts nor does it have an patent on them. Hardly anything about WoW is original, it just brought the ideas together and made them popular and staples of the MMO genre.

The mechs dont fit in the game. Else they have to work on many, many things (example motorcycle).

Yes, but FF doesnt need that. It has Chocobos. I just don't get the coin why people should ride a horse, a sheep, a bear or a mouse when they can have a fast, running bird which can have different colors, sizes and skills.
Ok, if the mechs really fit in the game and are something special, why not. But I think we talk about animals.
I can't think of how every body has a different animal to ride on.
