I'm not sure about this additional mount thing if they mean other beasts to ride. I just want a Chocobo, then I want Chocobo breeding, racing, treasure hunting and the ability to add gear to my Chocobo.
I hope they don't do mounted combat in a sense that if I go to a grind party everyone is sat on their Chocobo killing stuff.
If they do add additional mounts then can I please have a Shoopuf!!!!!!

what about Race-specific mounts? something large for roegadyn, something small for lalafells, etc. They could have chocobos for the generic mount all races can use.
Personally I think the mount systems in other MMOs has become far over simplified. I think SE should look into a system where in you have to capture and tame your mount rather than breeding or just buying them..
That being said, I also think SE should stick with the current lore implimented in the game.. There are not enough chocobos in Eorzea and theirfor not everyone can have one. That being the current situation, Chocobos should be pretty rare epic mounts that are hard to get and in some form or another very Personalized.
What I really want to see come back to XIV is chocobo raising with different colored chocobo's. Also the chocobo whistles would be nice too. I dont mind riding just chocobo's but I really hope they bring back the colored ones you can summon on the field. ^^
I like this idea alot. Wow, just...wow that was well thought out and sounds alot of fun and innovative. What you do is hook people on a simple traveling system, then have some sort of crazy world event where all the Aetheryte have broken and the mysterious aetheric mist no longer crystallizes. Prices rise, panic breaks out and the days of near-instantaneous travel are now over. Or is it?
The campaign to repair the Aetheryte introduces chocobos and airships into Eorzea. New zones are added that are only accessible by these new forms of travel, as the aetheric mist is incapable of crystallizing close to these anomalies that have sprung up. Once you have defeated the big bad, the Aetherytes start to reform, but now require more anima the further away from the city you're trying to teleport. The anomalies, however, still exist and continue to interfere with teleportation (possibly making it somewhat unreliable by either randomly costing more anima than normal or just occasionally not being able to teleport you).
Hogs, Drakes, Dragons, Chocobos, and Pieste
PVP on Chocobo.
If you get KO'd you'll just fall off your Chocobo. I'm like so hyped for this.
Another tought i have about chocobo's, they should develop it so the chocobo looks alive and have his own will. Too many MMO use mount just like a simple mode of locomotion, almost like a car, you make it stop, it stop, you turn right, it obeys on the spot.
1 very good game that developed a more realistic way of mount behavior is "Red Dead Redemption" a cowboy game for playstation, horses goes where you want, just dont respond like a car or robot.
Also i would like to see some animation of the chocobos on their own: look at fellow chocobo's, make some sounds, eat some grass, stomp the ground with their feet.
In resume, please make them look alive, and not like some docile robots
Chocobos and Machines! Give me a Magi-Tek Armor and my brain will explode.
