I get the feeling that if there are more than just chocobo mounts, the game will lose the Final Fantasy feeling to it. Even just give us the opportunity to customize them and that will be more than enough
Chocobos only please!

In FFIV you could ride a dragon, in FFVI you could ride in a suit of Magitek Armor, and in FFX you could ride a shoopuff, yet all three games still completely felt like FINAL FANTASY games. In fact, they were among the most popular FF games in the entire series. Allowing the player to ride other things besides a chocobo does not make the game any less of a FINAL FANTASY game.
Wanting to keep the unique flavor of the games is fine, but at the same time you have to allow the franchise to grow and evolve, which means you have to be willing to do things that haven't been done before. If the franchise doesn't try new things, then it will never grow. If it never grows, then it will start to stagnate. If it stagnates, then it starts to die. You have to always keep trying new things and keep improving. After all, if you're not moving forward, then you're falling behind, and I don't think anyone want so see the FINAL FANTASY franchise fall behind.
