I'd be pretty unhappy to see anything other than chocobo mounts in this game. Give them a variety of colours and possibly implement a way to gear them (like the armored chocobos of Ishgard) is more than enough variety for mounts. I like chocobo breeding and I don't want this game to continue off into the "generic MMO" direction as opposed to the "Final Fantasy" direction it should be heading towards from the start.

Well I was actually kinda hoping for trains as method of transport in FFXIV, so it'd be cool if they implemented something like that in the future when they introduce more areas, specifically Garlemaid, since the empire's supposed to have advanced tech anyway.

Being that we KNOW there are dragons/wyverns in the game, it'd be crazy not to somehow allow us to tame one of 'em for riding use. They could add something about the dragons operating in a "hive mind" state, and that tamers break that link or something if they need a lore excuse.

Being able to carry a group of LS mates on a carriage while they can play Triple Triad(no I'm not letting this one go) in the back would be pretty cool.

I can't even imagine how painful it'd be to ride on a Coblyn... lol

I like to have chocobo's of course as mount's but would like to see other feature's as well not just used as transportation but as an companion.
1. Add an area or settlement for chocobo's with like a grand chocobo as an leader. Where you can raise, train, custiomize your chocobo ie color, equipment etc to you're heart's content. Have fame, advancement rank for chocobo's with cutscene with your chocobo. More could be added in the future.
2. Be able to summon them not with an item that could take a valuable item space but an simple command text or whatever.
3. Have them were you can summon them in battle were after extensive training can transform your current weapon,armor depending on which you've train giving a hp/mp and stats boost to your weapon or gear.
4. Have another feature where they go gather item's or store gear item's from your adventures.

I'm pretty open to different view's on this just like to see something more to chocobo's then just as a mount used to get around places...

I'm not sure if they are still planning on using chocobo's in a different way or not. We've seen the carriages that could seat a few people in-game, but other than that, i wonder if they'll just release plain chocobos for now and add on to them later.

In the Final Fantasy universe, Chocobos are the only mounts you ever need, IMO.

Actually in the FF universe you really don't need any mount but since we're talking about what we want instead I would have to agree with the topic creator and according to the most recent producer letter we'll be getting mounts other than Chocobos but including Chocobos, so I guess Yoshi agrees too.
