A long time ago, even before Alpha, Tanaka mentioned something along the lines of Magitek armour might be in the offing - when I eventually saw the opening movie, I guessed that Magitek had been the principle inspiration for the design of the Garlean Empire's kit, but I'd throw a mention about Magitek back in there just to keep the idea in the mix. (Edit: Just spotted Magitek mentioned above. Still, +1)

On the subject of Chocobo's, I'd like to see hitching post facilities added to the major Aetherite camps. We could ride between camps and hitch the chocobo up and do some leves, then unhitch them and ride off to somewhere else. You'd need an ability to summon them in the field zones though. And, I know we have Retainers, but I think some way to integrate those inventories would be helpful - possibly have a (long-missed) Delivery box system, whereby stuff you are waiting for gets sent to your chocobo's post-bag.

Examination of mount system

This is the single most stupid thing the producer has yet said. It doesn't take more than 2 brain cells to figure out their warping system is breaking the immersion. You have to examine how to implement chocobos? Jesusmaryandtheholytwelve!

I agree with you, but maybe they mean a MOUNT SYSTEM like raising and taming chocobos, or maybe they mean obtaining other mounts other than chocobos.

So "examination of a mount system" could be incredibly stupid of them or it could be incredibly cool of them. Depends on what the phrase ACTUALLY means.

I want to be able to make my Chocobo look something similar to this at some point in the future.

This is the customization route I was talking about when I said you can have a world where everyone's Chocobo can be unique in their own way and geared up for a variety of things similar to a retainer.

That is only IF we are able to obtain our own private Chocobos at some point. But armored Chocobos would be a nice little feature to flesh out a player and their birds' personality.

Mounts should be able to be attacked by mobs and have permadeath. So if it dies we cry IRL.

Well, it seems they do want mounts to do more than just be transportation. I'm hoping for, but not holding my breath for, mounted combat. =D
