I hope that :
-They don't charge a lot to use one.
-Doesn't need to do a stupid quest to use one.
I also would like other animals to use for transportation. What would be original is that each race has a specific mount beside chocobos.![]()

They have to charge a lot since gil is meaningless in this game.

Sorry Cxplorer, but I totally disagree.
1. They should charge, because FFXIV dearly needs money sinks (I feel that I can't really do anything meaningful with my gil currently).
2. Please give us a quest line that somehow leads to chocobos. I really would prefer quests with a goal to random repeatable levequests.
About the last point (and the original topic of this thread), I would prefer just Chocobos in every size, flavor, skill, with different equipment and so on, but as long as it fits into the lore of the world and they don't overdo it, I'm not totally against other mounts.

Mount Training: Allows you to ride a mount.
Cost: 5,000,000 gil
There's your gil sink. People that play on incomes less than that day to day will hate you for it, but there you have it.
Seeing how it's in-game currency, I don't see how one would ever feel anything meaningful about spending gil.(I feel that I can't really do anything meaningful with my gil currently)

* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

I remember SE saying a long while back that there would be chocobos and horse-driven carriages.
Was just looking for sources and I had a hard time but I found this..

Apparently it was in Famitsu.

I'm also for just chocobos (in different sizes, colours etc) as mounts. I found it very annoying in other mmo's that there were mounts from creatures that were either not in the game in any other shape or form or were clearly much to aggresive to tame and ride. More often than not people would look stupid and out of place on them too.
Give us our shephard job with a means to breed chocobo's so these can be sold to the public maybe?

I'm really looking forward to seeing chocobos in game. HOWEVER, I really, really hope they don't add other animals to ride - chocobos are a Final Fantasy staple, and seeing people riding around on other animals would simply be blasphemy of the highest degree.
Of course, chocobo-drawn carriages and airships are perfectly fine, if that's what they meant.![]()
