OP I feel for you! I'm running on the low end as well (Core 2 represent!), and in the last couple of hotfixes, I've started to get severe FPS drop when large groups of things pop up (aka Weight of the Land and Coil 4 bugs). I try to compensate for this as much as I can, but sometimes I'll still get hit. Still manage to get multiple relics and beat Coil 4 though. :]

Paying the bills comes before buying a shiny new computer. People like us have to work harder, and our FCs have to wait a little for us to load into zones, but we can still be good players!

People that lag like that should have the self courtesy to not ruin others gaming experience, especially if your the tank or healer and they are relying on you to perform well.

The response's you get to leave are not toxic, your stubbornness to not leave with that kind of lag is toxic. How can you enjoy the game if you can't play it. You mean to tell me you have fun playing this game while you lag out constantly? I know when I'm tanking and 4 DPS are performing perfectly, and 1 healer is carrying the other healer because they are lagging out it infuriates me. It's not fair to the group to have to put up with it, we will replace you. "Note we will ask you to reset your internet, computer, etc etc etc first and see, then we will replace you"

The minimum requirements for this game are for playing on the lowest possible settings. If your playing on high or maximum you need Way Way better than an 8800 GTS, you need a 650 ti, 660 ti, 760GTX, 770, Ttitan, or a Raedeon 9750+ With a processor with a 3.2ghz+ core.

Minimum means Minimum. Meaning this is the minimum you can play the game with at it's minimum settings.

That example really doesn't make any sense though. A professional team has a barrier to entry. They wouldn't let such a person play on the team in the first place, and if a player who was on the team developed such a condition they would be removed from the team.

Ultimately this is the difference between an FC, and a DF PUG. A DF PUG is a random group of player who aren't playing as a professional team.

The FC can choose to set barriers to entry, they can be a professional team.

My advice, get in a FC that can do it. Dont pug Titan if you have bad lag! Hell don't DF Titan at all, whats the second tank doing? Twidling his thumbs thats what, piss poor set up on SE's end, Titan doesnt need two tanks! Sorry your lag is sucktastic, but when my lag is that bad I dont go into things like Titan, and if you have to, well find someone that is willing to take you and carry you and then stay out of Titan forever or until you buy a new computer.

It's just too bad the toxicity of these forums just means no matter what you say or do, there will always be some trolling twats who think they know better and somehow think they look cool by making blanket statements and pointless attacks on you. This is especially true when it comes to issues where they can wave their elitist dicks around, such as having a high spec PC. I think it makes them feel better about themselves or something.

When a bad internet connection or under-powered computer is hamstringing you and preventing you from playing correctly you are by proxy a bad player. You are the only person that can change that situation, you've realized what your problem is and rather than rectifying it, have accepted it. Now you've reached the point that you're actively trying to justify your decision to not rectify the problem, which is the true mark of a BAD PLAYER.

Video lag =/= latency. If you have garbage fps it's likely not going to cause any problems with avoiding things, unless it's extremely bad. That said:

If your PC is so slow that it's stops you from being able to perform basic maneuvers in the game then you should either upgrade or not play. Period.

There is truth to this, and it makes me sad that people immediately attacked Vivik for this despite it being true. Simply put, if your PC is so terrible that you look like your character uses old school cactuar animations, you probably shouldn't be doing group events with random people. Friends sure, because they understand the problem. But random people? Please don't ruin 3-7 others' gameplay.

I get that not everyone can dish out the "less than a PS3" worth of money to make a PC that can play this game, but some are so bad that they really shouldn't be trying to play.

Why so much hostility here? The point was there is a real problem, but that there are also things that can be done to overcome it. Did you watch the video or read the OP comments? He is actually trying to do something useful here. Demonstrate the problem exists and that yes people should have sympathy for those affected, but also show that for those who are affected it can be to an extent overcome with practice.
