Hmm... Allagan isn't really all that better. You get more parry with AF2 and Determination which affects how much you are healed for.

Determination does not effect how much you are healed for that's just a bad translation what it does is affect the potency of your cures and is basically .5 str however without the parry str gain.

Things determination would effect is blood bath, and cure atleast for a pld.

Thanks for your statement James, at least you gave feed back as for Aria Placida who simple said "No, it doesn't." with no explanation at all, not very helpful.
But yes, I can see where I read the description for Determination wrong after I went back and relooked at it.

The difference is still minuscule between the two.

Just to jump back in here, lol I wasn't thinking this would turn into a debate on which is better. It depends on your other items IMO. I was holding out for the Allagan chest as well, but when it didn't drop this week and I had the stones for an AF2 chest, it was worth it alone to get out of that Darklight gear. Also I took into account that the other tank in my raid has neither the af2 or allagan chest, so now if it drops he has no competition, so we can both gear up.

If you need the accuracy, the allagan chest is better, if not, AF2.

The original intention of this thread was just to show how happy I was to get rid of that ugly ass armor, and figured others like Hiir would also like to. Hence why this isn't a blog post that nobody will ever see in a lodestone.

BiS is ilevel 90... waiting for drops is a ridiculous idea.. a tank in our group 1 has yet to see a single drop after weeks of raids on 1 thru 4.. if it is an upgrade.. buy it! I have the allagan chest, belt and then PLD\WAR myth helms. Does not matter that Allagan helm is better than both I am noy wearing hoplite till we can clear turn 5 and I can POSSIBLY get the helm drop.

Buy that HQ 55 chest militia, and instead buy the valor helm.

Would doing that be betetr than relic+1 or gloves?

Determination does NOT affect how much you are healed for. I tested it with a fellow WHM. Determination affects how much your healing spells actually cure and also increment a little bit your damage output. Thats why you see DET in healer gear.

For PLD Cure spell is useless so for us its only useful to increment DPS and thus emnity but still is quite small compared to strength, you need to add 5/6 DET to achieve the same that 1 STR gives you in DPS.

Also in Coils of Bahamut the higher level enemies have quite a bit of evasion and if you dont have the appropiate amount of accuracy you will miss a lot of hits, for Tanks this is bad because it breaks you emnity combos.
