Are there actually people spawning adds in Caduceus P2 ?

Okay guys, from what i gathered, there are three ways to deal with caduceus P2. The first one, if you have enough DPS, is to evenly split your damage and kill both snakes without spawning any more adds, before they reach 5 stacks.

The second one, if you are behind on DPS, is to focus on snake and kite the second once the first is dead, without spawning any more adds.

The third one is to bother with the spawning add thing, with the lack of dps on boss from dps kiting, the taking care of healing dps and thus not healing tank for the time, the not killing adds but at same time taking them low enough, the boss ating and healing some anyway... It just seems like so much hassle and trouble, dragging the fight to the point where mages have mana issues and bard have to sing on top of kiting adds and dps'ing the boss... Yet it seems to be the way the boss was intented to be killed.

So my question is this: are there actually people that do things "properly" by spawning two adds each time during P2 ? Is there a video showing it ? Cause all the guides i saw on youtube use either tech 1 or tech 2, and tech 3 is actually only mentionned, and never used. Same for people ingame that killed him, it seems that no one ever bother to spawn adds in P2.

My FC did that for the very first week we tried it. It was a very very smooth kill, if somewhat longer by a couple of minutes.

It's not a bad method but once you have the DPS to burn the boss it's pointless.

My Coil group did discuss about method 3, but our healer mention that it's already quite hard healing the tank, so they are afraid they might not be able to heal the kiter. In the end we use a method not mention here, once split, we focus dps on the original Caduceus and burn it to 5-10% hp, then switch to the clone and dps it down as fast as we can, once clone is down, melee will straight away LB the original, and dps burn it. I think Caduceus only reach 3 stack before we kill it.

My group kills one, then kills the other. I'm the PLD tank and I don't have any trouble rotating cooldowns after he hits six+ stacks to survive, and the melee LB at the end knocks him out pretty handily.

We're thinking about trying for a five DD rush and just letting him recombine instantly. We've seen it done by other groups but my gear isn't that hot for a tank.

Yeah, one of the safer methods is just to DPS one boss down to 5%, then switch to the other. Once one dies you have your tank hallowed ground, and once that's up you have the other tank cover+hallowed ground. Shouldn't need more than the 20s of flat immunity that gives to down the last one.

Just for the first part of the fight, I found the zerg-method with 2 PLD much less complicate and easier to handle, somehow.

We tried, and got quite close. Then we switched to the burn method, and got it down on the second try.

Feeding both copies slugs made a lot more sense when people were in general less geared. If you keep them on 0 stacks, the damage on the tanks is fairly low, so you can get away with less gear on them and the healers. DPS also doesn't need to be as high because you only have to beat the enrage timer. It does require a lot more coordination and cleaner execution.

Also, now that most people coming into Coil have farmed up full DL, Relic+1, and maybe an extra myth piece or two, there's little reason to do it that way anymore. It's unfortunate, because it was a cool introduction to FFXIV raiding for us when we first ran it.

Another option is to get Caduceus down to 10% and kite him around the map until he dies. LOL

If you have a warrior in group, no way he can last on 2-3 stacks.

Seems most people here are running with 2 PLD......not everyone brings 2 PLD to coil....
