Fates giving me terrible xp?

So I've been trying to level up my level 22 healer and I've tried numerous things, but the xp I'm getting is shocking for the actions I'm doing... Whether I'm in a party or not, the maximum xp I get from doing a fate is about 4k, and the gold about 50 coins. I've been doing Fates around my level, either a little higher or a little lower, both alone and in a party, but regardless, I get barely anything. When I'm in a party the other members get about 40k xp... I don't get it...

I tag enemies and use DoT spells, then return to healing. I rez people, keep them healer, protect them but the xp I get is just a scam. What am I doing wrong? Is there a certain thing I should be doing to get xp? -This is becoming boring because whilst they're leveling up and having a great time, It's taking me forever to just level up once :L

I think about 4k is what you should be getting at level 20. Where are you going that people are getting 40k per FATE?

40k from a fate. thats crazy.
Im only getting about 11-12k per fate and Im level 45

I've only ever had a 11k reward once, on average I get about 3k... I know some people who get as much as 50k, just for doing exactly what I'm doing, I just don't get how it works. Sometimes I go into a fate, kill a single enemy and get 3k, other times I kill a boss fate on my own and get 2.5k... Where's the logic?

Are you sure you didn't just hear them wrong? 40k from a Quarrymill FATE is insane, I've never heard of that. I think the biggest one you can get is the Coeurlclaw boss in the far eastern part of the map, and that one is only like 15k, tops.

I'm fairly sure you got something wrong. Even 49lvl fate won't give you THAT much exp. Are you sure someone wasn't just trolling you? Or maybe they were talking about exp per hour of fate grinding, which would make much more sense.

Either way, I assure you that it's impossible to get so much exp on one fate. Especially not on your level (even on 49lvl). Your best bet would be using Aero on every single mob you can, this should allow you to get gold medal for fate...more often than not, at least.

You are not going to get 40k exp per fate at lvl 20 from a single fate. Maybe that guy meant he got 40k in a certain amount of time? And if you think fate exp is slow/boring you can always try to lvl up a craft or do a leve while you wait for the next fate to pop up. If you dont like doing fates at all, well you can always try doing a dungeon for exp(lol) and see if you like that.

At 45 I'm getting around 18k for most fates, 30 or 40+k for the end of DD or multi-head thingy in Northern Thanalan. These are lvl 49 fates. Level 30 I think the xp was about 10k or so with the It's not Lupus etc.. big fate at around 30k. Your average fate is not going to be 30k+. That's why you keep running around like a nut forever.

ressing doesn't give credit for fates, only healing and DoT does and the reason they may get a tad more exp probably not a ton but... they probably get a bit more because when you get a lvl 50 or close to it class, it gives a big boost to what fates give you. The dragon fate in Dragonhead (Coerthas) Gives me about 30k just for doing it when I am leveling a class around there.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you will get lower exp the lower the level you are but you should be good enough for south shroud so... I say just dotting a bunch of stuff you see people hitting and healing the tanks/party members should help and for any collection quest all you really need is 6 items minimum for a gold on those.

I do kinda doubt their exp is that high though but the one at the gate fate may actually be the only one able to hit over 10k-12k when you do it.

Edit: I should add that the gate one would probably hit no more than around 13k or so though so 40-50k isn't possible, I'd not believe whoever is telling you otherwise love.
