I think WOW contributed to this mentality. Their auto que and super easy dungeon combo got players accustomed to rushing through content and encouraged the I want it fast, easy, and now mentality.Well that's how MMO culture works now they want everything now and if everything doesn't work out first try they QQ and want to kick people. The amount of people who come into DF expecting things to be perfect or expecting speed runs is just funny. To me if you want those things you'd never in a million years use a random group finder where you don't know what you are getting you find your friends,FC people or like minded randoms who have the gear and experience you need.
It has done quite a bit of damage to the ideology of MMOs. Sad but true. I feel bad for the people who never really truly got to experience how real MMOs were back nearly a decade and a half ago. It has changed greatly and I can tell you, I enjoy those adventurous days...even when gfx and etc were terrible.
Yeah, I feel for you with the wasting 90 minutes because it's happened to me before on multiple occasions, but as people have pointed out, it happens and removing the timer is only going to frustrate you more when you look at the clock and realize you've been attempting the same fight for three hours.
This community needs to stop with the "I had one bad experience so now I'm going to go straight to the forums and demand things be changed" threads. There are bad mechanics and bad luck and most of the time it is the latter.
