First I will start off by saying thank you to SE for quelling the bulk of the gold spammer issue. I've been able to go into towns and only rarely see a gold spammer. I can block one in town and not see another one for several days. However, the spammers have been resorting to tells. I've lost count of how many fake names are on my blist. A good half I could probably delete by now though.

Over the past week though, I've noticed an increase in the tells I've been getting from gold sellers. Anywhere from 8-12 additions to the list a day at this time. More specifically from these goldceo people. And it seems they've been catching on to the blist thing and finding ways around it. Today alone, I've blocked 6 names. 7 yesterday. Something about the Goldceo XXXXXX names is that when I blist one, that name will be deleted 2-3 hours later and I'll get a tell from another. I blist, name goes bye bye, and another pops up. I don't know how they got my character's name to tell me, but its getting ridiculous that I can't stop them, and that blisting only solves the problem for maybe 2 hours at a time. Please SE find out how they are able to tell spam and stop them.

They can easily just search for people, pretty simple actually. All you can do is BLIST.

Gridania and Limsa are fine. When i port to Ul'dah it's shocking. I counted 20 RMT shouts in a few seconds. It actually scrolls really fast.
I hate Ul'dah, seems scabby now.

There was some gil seller named goldceo on our server. For a couple days he was pestering me. Id blacklist him and 10 minutes later Id get a tell from him with same first name different last name. I must have blisted him like 8 times. Finally I wrote a ticket explaining the situation was more harrassment than selling, and listed all the names of his that I had in my blacklist list. He disappeared pretty soon after that. Im not sure what his motivation was really. Im sure he knew I was never going to buy anything, since I kept blacklisting him. Was he harrassing me personally or just trying to be a disruption to the game itself?

BTW, you can make a blacklist macro. It goes like
/blist add <r>
That will blacklist the last person that sent a tell.

At best SE is barely staying even with the tellers. In my opinion they must take the following steps to gain the upper hand:

1. Require the use of a Security Token/App by players. As long as this is only an option then you will continue to see a large number of hacked accounts due to ppls laziness or false belief that it cannot happen to them.

2. Immediate banning of anyone found to have direct dealings with RMT for the purpose of buying Gil or services. I am not talking about the innocent player who's ware are bought by RMT or sold to them by RMT on the market.

3. A major upgrade in the size and training of STF members. These people should out and about on all worlds watching for and investigating illicit acts. Automated programs do not work. The RMTs know how to get around them. Human involvement is needed.

4. A viable and active GM program. At the very least we should be able to contact a GM directly 24/7 with issues pertaining to the game. As a follow up GMs and Community Reps should spend several hours a day in game conversing with the populace. Put a face to these people.

5. Completely overhaul Customer Service to be able to provide valuable service to the people.

We're not dealing with the brain trust of social intelligence here, they really only have persistence on their side. They don't care, for what ever reason (car impounded, hungry babies, cult initiation, working off debt to human smuggling ring, family at gunpoint, etc.) they are under pressure to sell, sell, sell. That means putting their website in front of your eyeballs by whatever means necessary.
