Let's address this from an entirely different angle - Has anyone ever repaired anything themselves?

I haven't.

My reasons are:
A) Dark matter takes up precious space
and
B) Switching through 3-4 different classes to repair my stuff is BEYOND tedious.

I'd rather farm shards than repair an inventory worth of stuff.
