I suspect it was because the last time I had logged in, I was in another location. I know that other MMOs have this feature but it was rather annoying. I got notified only when I logged in and the Email sent in the same moment.

Anyone else ever have this?

Anytime I log in in a location other than my house I get this. Frustrating that there's no way to disable/modify the feature, but the email usually comes pretty quick so its not the end of the world for me. (Other than remembering which part of my pword rotation I'm on).

It's a security feature, either get used to being locked out of your account when you are in different places (ISP) or get the token/app that will remove that restriction when playing with different ISP

I believe you only get those emails if you don't have an authenticator attached to your account. I used to get it all the time in 1.0 because I logged on to the forums from work and the game from home. I use the mobile authenticator app now, and haven't had this issue.

Ok. Spooked me a little. I've been either paranoid or lucky enough not to have had my account on any game ever stolen, though I suspect I no longer have my Runescape accounts. :P

GW2 has a similar feature in it. Unfortunately I do not have the kind of phone you need for the authenticator, so I can't get one unless I order a security key.
