You seem not to realize how long the PS3 has been out, and how long its been since the price was reduced. It's been YEARS. I wasn't married, at the time, and it mainly serves as a DVD/bluray player these days anyway. And any computer I would have put the money I paid for the PS3 toward back then would be even worse off for playing FFXIV today anyway. Great logic you got there. Things change, and people grow up and find new responsibilities in life. I own a computer, as you would know if you actually paid attention to my original post, or, you know, used your brain for two seconds seeing as how I'm posting on an internet message board and all. We use it for internet stuff, my wife's college courses, and for my work projects. It's not powerful enough to run FFXIV, but it's more than enough to handle what we actually do use it for. So why would I buy a completely new one just to play one game? THAT is a waste of money, as you not so aptly tried to turn my own words around on me for picking up a PS3 back when my cost of living was not even a quarter what it is now. Buying a completely new computer to play one single game is not a priority. Picking up a game for a system i've owned since before I was married is a luxury I am willing to spend money on. It's all a matter of priorities. Having a kickass gaming computer ISNT one. I would rather put money away in case I am injured and can't work, or need to repair my house or car. Having a shiney new computer that I barely use the full capabilities for on anything other than one single game sure will be nice when I need to have $700 worth of work done on my car because some stoner douchebag without insurance slammed into. I have no transportation, but thank god I don't have to play FFXIV on PS3, that sure does give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Owning an awesome computer is not everything there is to life, and it is not as important to me as having money put away in case something happens and I need it. Owning a gaming computer is not important to me. Making sure that my family is provided for in every instance is. Maybe you should grow up a little and realize that you're an adult now, and start putting some money away too. You never know when you'll need it.
I have enough for my needs. A shiney new computer that will rarely, if ever, be used for gaming isnt one, and never will be one, therefore I have no need, or desire, to spend that much money on one. Especially when there are so many more important things out there that I could use that money for, like taking my boys to see the sights that the USA has to offer, going out for a night or two with my wife and no kids tagging along (which if you have kids, you will know is VITAL for remaining sane sometimes hahaha) and many other things that I would rather be doing with that money than spending it on a computer that I neither need nor want.
