For scholar, Relic+1 yields ~1% more effectiveness from a single upgrade than AF1.5.

HOWEVER, and this is a big however for some - I personally don't feel 1% more DPS, is worth being consigned to wearing a hobo sack for eternity. Which is why i personally opted for the AF1.333 gear instead.
