Multiple Alt's+ FF MMO

I see A LOT of people complain about the myth cap, and say they're making multiple alts and how bored they are of playing the game, usually in the same sentence.

I really don't understand this mindset?

What I realized in FFXI is you have to think for the future. Sure level your alts now, get your myth caps and have fun managing all those extra characters.

I think you guys are really setting yourself up for a huge amount of work in the future or a giant waste of time now, just so you can obtain more 90 gear that bypasses the 80 gear that will be released with Crystal Tower in Dec.
There are a lot of benefits for having all your jobs leveled on One character.

Personally I'm working on maxing all jobs to 50,
Currently 8/8 DoH, 2/3 DoL, and 4/9 DoW/DoM
Working on learning how to play each job correctly and skilled, all while gearing up i70 so that I have a variety of jobs for Crystal Tower and beyond.

What I don't understand is how some players have distilled this game down to The Coil and 300 Myth cap and everything else is GTFO.

I have my Stardust+1, working on Curtana+1 and I feel like i90 is mostly bonus atm, something to keep us busy while working on all the other content.

The only people I can kind of understand are the 1.0 Players with everything maxed, but even for them; If I was capped I would focus on making money for housing, achievements, and helping my FC. Huge amounts of new content should only be 8 weeks away or so.

Just seems like a sad use to not enjoy the content of what for me continues to be a very fun game, and
I just wanted to say something.

I'm in the same mindset and working on getting all my classes up at the moment. Having fun experiencing the game. End game will still be there when I get there and I don't really plan to skip Crystal Tower since it was intended to be the content to bridge the gear gap from 70 to 90.

This part is the one about which I'm slightly iffy. I actually enjoy leveling alts and having different characters for different things. Also, you claimed the future would be "a huge amount of work" (and/or a waste of time, etc). When did Final Fantasy become work? I play it for the pleasure of being multiple people, each with different jobs to do. My Miqo'te, bending aether to her will and destroying her foes. My Elezen, keeping his companions from harm. It's all rather fun really, which is why I played in the first place. I agree with everything else though, it's why I'm taking my very sweet time leveling.

I was referring to players trying to bypass the myth cap solely by making another alt and maxing one job on that, and moving on. If people want to do that go ahead... but I really fail to see how that's better than having patience. What's the big rush to have all i90 gear now?

So they can haz it and /pose in city hubs. Complain about lack of end game content. Cancel their sub as soon as COD: Ghosts comes out or the next WoW expac. DUH!

LoL...although very crude, it pretty much sums it all up. However, its been the common trend these days, especially this current generation of MMO gamers. You'll see it in all MMOs, none are spared this problem.

If you don't understand you don't have to understand. News flash! People like different things. I'm only interested in progressing ONE job and everything else can gtfo. For me fun is not in leveling all classes or crafting, fun is in end game and hardcore raiding with my single job that i choose and at the moment this game has bare minimum of what you even consider "having an end game".

You say that, but if you had only +1'd one relic and used the extra myth for the job with the +1 relic, you'd be considerably effective on that job (you'd be gimping the other job though which is part of the problem). As it is you're just gimping both jobs.

i90 can't be a bonus because it actually makes everything easier and more reliable with better gear. Would you rather do BC with better gear and a better chance of success, or do it with worse gear and a lesser chance of success? Most people would choose the former and want their whole party to choose the former.
