While you're at it make a stiffer penalty for auto-quitting CM just because half of the party is new. So many absolute unhelpful selfish jerks in duty finder.

I am going to be refusing to continue groups I see afk'ers in from now on. I'm tired of these people.
To the other people in groups I have to leave because of this, I do apologize and I really don't mean to make it worse on you. Don't blame me, blame the AFK'er and SE for not having something to fight this.
Canada will rule the world with a green thumb, instead of an iron fist.
I will NEVER judge a person for trying to watch the cutscenes in CM...
...as long as you don't judge me for spirit bonding crafting jewelry while we're there![]()
I forget where. but it was reported somewhere on the forums that the GMs said a player does not have to help in a party or something like that, reporting them does nothing.
My reports have been replied to saying that players refusing to perform their duties/roles is considered harassment to continue to report any such behaviour. They could not tell me the actions taken, but gave a link to their policy.
Pretty standard message, not sure if anything way done. They, at least, implied that reporting does lead to an investigation though.
you can bet that SE will change that policy sooner or later if we keep making sure they know we are bothered by it.
that being said, I still think someone needs to make a wall of shame website. with a fancy url so everyone remembers to check it daily, too.
I have already blacklisted a few leechers that happened to be on my server (I always check on the lodestone and keep a personal list just in case), but it's not enough -.-
I HOPE the MVP system won't even be needed anymore by the time 2.1 comes out and 'these people' will have lost interest in the game and moved on. part of me really wants TESO to come out faster so some of them leave, hopefully for good -.-
I don't get how people can be this lame.
-Is it a boring mindless grind no one wants to do? Yes.
-Would it be nice to get it done without actually doing anything? Yes
-Does that make it right for us having someone else do it for us, without even having their compliance on it? ABSOLUTELY NO.
-Should we do it then? Of course not. Unless, the people you are running with agree to it. But it's still pretty stupid, If you just can't take the grind, then maybe you don't deserve the gear, seeing how everyone who has it had to go through it, no reason to make special cases.
AFKing in a dungeon is ok, if you really had to, but honestly, you should try to avoid it if possible, ofc a random 2 minutes afk cause something happened or you really had to go bio or something is ok. But you should try to let the party know at least, and if possible if you dont really have to, have them agree on it, obviously some jerks will be jerks, but a lot of people aren't like that really.
-Why should it be avoided? Because we are all in there and want to get the things done! And it's not just your personal time in play but also the one of all the other party members.
It's all just a matter of respect for the others really. A moral thing. :/
I hate the ones who sit at the entrance the whole time, then we get to part two of the last boss they decide to join in and say "Oh sorry I needed a band-aid for my paper cut" or something else that's stupid -__-. But now I don't even touch CM it's all WP and AK n_n!
I had a tank in CM who AFK'd at the start. He came back about 20+ minutes in, clicked through the cutscenes and said, "Oh my cat got away so I had to chase him". Then two seconds later he afked saying his cat got away again.
Someone told the AFKer that they were reporting him. The AFKer replied right away(so he was clearly just sitting there...) and said that reporting does nothing because SE doesn't have any rules against it. He said a GM told him that. Then he afked again and never came back. People started to quit shortly after that.
I'd really like to know if AFKing all of a dungeon is against the rules or not. It's important to me now because there's no vote to kick option yet.

The game is supposed to be fun. If someone is making it less so due to deliberate and malicious action, we as a community should take the responsibility and time to report the offenders in detail and explain why it's an issue. AFKers, Griefers, Gil sellers etc.. are enabled by us the players who don't take the any action to report them.
I lead my PUG CM runs lots, and next time I see an AFKer I shall tell the group to fill out the 'report' harassment section before we start. Screen shot his name so he can't just bail and we lose his name. You can look up the character's server on the FFXIV webpage and provide it to the party so we don't name the wrong person. If the AFKer is unlucky, the GM will be there to see him standing there doing nothing OR he drops right away and another can take his place. I hope it may result in a win/win but didn't test it yet.
