So, in a few months they're going to update a TON of content. Right now I'm leveling all my jobs to 50 and I've geared 3/9 with DL and working on 2nd Relic. It's been a lot of fun! My goal is to have as many jobs CT ready as possible before the update.

For people obsessing over the myth cap I just feel sorry for them :/

This always happens on modern MMORPGs. It's a by-product of this new crowd who plays MMORPGs who want to be able to quickly solo to max level so they can be bored.

Don't get me wrong this isn't about the myth cap or even grinding other classes and crafts
As much as people hate to hear this, this is about the lack of content at max lvl

Look at any other major title release in the past five years with release pvp multiple raids 3-7 max lvl dungeons ect ect

I've started a thread on my server group and offered to just do some dungeons with local folk, not the DF. (I have no problem with the DF) Its just I'd rather have that community feel when I do dungeons, and better yet if I want to do the same dungeon again

Anyways back to point, there is plenty to do, as far as what you want to have accomplished...well that is a story for another day

Just like any other new MMO before the content patches begin to roll out. 2.1 is coming, just keep your pants on. ;p

All the game needs to help with some of the boredom is mini-games. That's what has made a lot of other games popular...and these mini-games don't have to be groundbreaking and new concepts, but something as simple as:

NPC: Want to play a guessing game?
You: Pay 100 gil
NPC: I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 10.
You: 5.
NPC: Sorry! *You lose 100 gil*
NPC: Play again?
You: Yes.
NPC: I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 10.
You: 5.
NPC: You got it! *Gives you 500 gil*

This is a silly one but just a really quick example of how much content could EASILY be coded into the game by just adding some of these NPCs and other simple mini-games. You could get more advanced than this and it shouldn't make any of the developers/coders even break a sweat... every single FF I've played all the way from when I started on FF3 has had an abundance of minigames

Everybody seems to remember the goldensaucer from FF7.. Racing chocobos or betting on people's chocobos for races. Single player boss fight challenges for prizes. A Lottery. Tic tac toe.... hell, put in an Eorzean-style chess game...whatever! Just add mini-games that one person can enjoy by themselves or a few friends can all get involved in.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but when I buy a book, I like to read every page of it and not skip to the last chapter.
Equally when I buy a game I like to try every race, every class, every job, do all the quests, collect all the mounts and pets and craft all the gear, before I even touch end game content.

For me there are too many things to do, but if you are only interested in DoW I can see how you could be bored. If DoW 1 main is all you are interested in doing; consider perhaps taking up another game until new content is released. I cannot really think of how SE can appease some people (no offense intended), it seems content cannot be created at the rate it can be consumed. This is even more evident to those that enjoy only one class. I do feel for you, but find something else to pass your time until new content.

This is really the best advice. There's 19 classes in this game to level, but if it doesn't interest you to play around with other things then you may want to find something else to do and just login at the beginning of the week to do your Myth/Coil runs.

2.1 is going to bring more things to do, but it's sounding like that's going to be around a month to month and a half away at this rate.

Omg! Porty Port Portus! TGS doesn't come out till 2.3 I think though...Triple Triad and that Sphere game or even Blitzball would be awesome.


Also, they shoulda released CT oh well lol. I want Minigames! Oh and swimming.

We're only getting our theme park in 2.3? That's way too long.

All I want I want is to sit down at a table and play a card game. I wouldn't even mind it if they copied a classic trick-taking game and adapted the deck to FFXIV's lore.

You have options of rolling another class, crafting, gathering, materia selling, achievements, starting your own FC, joining a FC, helping others/making friends, dancing in the streets of limosa...

2 months for another patch with a lot of updates isn't too far off.

Roll another class? I enjoy my BRD a lot; I could go play another job and do a somewhat different rotation (they're all MMO jobs, they're not that unique). Crafting? Not worth that much considering the best gear is obtained from tomes/coil. Gathering? More boring than crafting and kinda pointless if you aren't going to craft. Materia selling? What do I need that gil for? The dungeons I run daily give me plenty of gil. Personal housing won't be around till 2.2 or 2.3 and my FC is wealthy enough to not need me to pitch in for it in 2.0. Achievements? I never owned an xbox, never saw the point in them. FC? I've got a fun one from FFXI, it's fairly small atm however so not too much chat going on. Friends? I do try but the ones I have tend to play at different times a lot and shout groups/DF tend to be a one-and-done deal. Not to mention my numerous friends on different worlds. Dancing? Now THERE'S an idea!

Currently what I do in the game when I'm bored is help out random titan hm runs... gives me something to do.
