Mechanical storage is dirt cheap anyways. 120 is more than enough for OS and a few games to start, more storage can be added much later in the road. That list makes a lot more sense than the ones in here that recommend an APU to start.

You would be much better off waiting on the solid state drive. It's not a necessity. Not to mention you could save that money and go with an intel cpu. Which is a much stronger gaming chip.

Upgrading to a solid state drive isn't essential... however it will be one of the most noticeable upgrades. When you go from 40 seconds boot times to desktop to under 10 seconds you're left with this feeling of amazement.

Clearly, "amazement" is the entirety of your knowledge base for system-building.

Its not perfect, but most people have a HDD or two lying around they can throw in a pc, if you're updgrading your old one just scavange it for optical drives and hard drives or just replace the SDD with a normal hard drive.

You can get a gtx760, 7950 or R9 270X for that price.
And the 660 is discontinued. People need to stop recommending it. Bad advise.
