@Zoner (couldn't quote, too many characters sorry.)

Well where I'm a healer I use duty finder way more than premade parties and nearly always have, what I guess would be considered an "Elite" player or more in the party. This would end up leading to awkward situations where you could have three people in full DL running a dungeon with one newbie. I'm not automatically assuming everyone will be a nasty piece of work, moaning and complaining, forcing them to skip cut scenes and so on. But I've seen more than a fair share do it end game, so why would they be any different in earlier dungeons?

Plus if it's your first dungeon and you get stuck with a bunch of people like that, ruining your experience. That could people off playing altogether if they think the whole community is like that.

I found plenty of people like that just lvling to 50 the first time around, it's inevitable to meet a jerk here and there

I think they should remove the cap but offer diminishing returns on farming after a certain amount. That way, players bound and determined to max one job out still have something to do but they won't get too terribly far ahead.

Realistically, the cap won't be there forever. Caps are there to slow down end game because there's not alot if it. Once the game as a decent amount of end game it will most likely have no cap. By the 2nd patch the cap should be non existent.

With all these Dungeons and Guildhest in the game is there really a reason we're stuck farming 3 sources for Myths?

Your probably right but my idea is really less about gaining Myth Tomes and more about giving players reason to revisit the low level dungeons and helping newbs progress in their storyline quest.

For the time being, it would be a temporary countermeasure. Till they hopefully drop the cap when end game content pours in.

Even if SE doesn't go with my idea, they really need to add some incentive to revisit the low level dungeons.

I like the idea of a soft cap. I really do. It seems that some players have more myth gear than should seem possible... and it would be nice to be able to "catch up".
I dont think the cap helps on catch up, atleast now at 300 cap. They way is it now, players who have a lot of time can just go to Coil and farm Allagan gear, that is equal to myth gear. But the players who cant get a set party for Coil due to their times schedules are getting behind gear-wise, because they cant get iLVL90 geared as fast as someone who runs Coil. This cap is purely a time sink, especially on how low is it now.

Anyways, I like the idea of OP
