An apology

Dearest Balmung,

This week we recruited a new member into our free company. A little over a day ago this new member was caught selling Titan runs. We apologize to you Balmung, that any member of HOTT would do this.

We aren't a FC who supports power leveling or paying through content, so we took this member aside to tell him/her no. Paying for Titan runs is against everything HOTT stands for as a gaming community. We help each other out, teach the game, and support each other.

We gave the seller 24 hours to decide between selling Titan runs and being a member of our community. Since then the person has been booted from our community.

That's when we heard someone shouting in Ul'Dah that we are a FC that deliberately Sabotages Titan runs...

We would never do this. We do not put up with this behavior. We would rather be giving to the community rather then taking. (As of writing this letter we have a few folks who have passed Titan, but for the most part we are stuck in Phase 5. We hope to get our first FC Titan win before Halloween.) Even though we have booted the individual who was selling Titan runs, we have seen no evidence that they are sabotaging runs.

If we had we would try to get them banned from the game....

Selling Titan runs is against our philosophy, actively sabotaging them is wrong and evil. A lot of our members are still attempting to get their relic weapon, and it's almost farcical that some member was both charging exuberant prices and sabotaging those who didn't pay to those in the same boat as us. We apologize to anyone involved.

Sabotaging or Selling runs undermines everything Hand of the Twelve stands for as a community. We have always been about kindness, and winning together. Buying a run is not winning in our opinion.

We did not and shall never support buying Titan runs. All pay for Power-Leveling has been against our rules since 1.0.

We apologize to all of you on Balmung that a member of HOTT was selling runs. I promise that anyone we know of selling Primal runs, sabotaging fights, or selling Power-Leveling will be booted from our community.

TLDR version: We are of the opinion that PLing and Pay for win scenarios needlessly break the player skill-to-progression balance.
A newer member began advertising Pay2Win Titans for "friends", we asked them to stop, then soon after the shouts in Ul'Dah started.
We don't charge people and we would never sabotage.

yeah I find it highly annoying that people sell dungeon runs. Not only do I have to deal with RMT tells I now have to deal with shouts of people saying "pay me money for dungeon "X"...."

We do have a linkshell but it is at 128 at the moment. I keep begging SE to increase the number.

It's good that you're bring this stuff up with the community. I sympathize with you and it's a shame someone didn't think about who they were tagged with before they started opening their mouth.
