    Practice...we're talking about practice....

Ok, so I love Scholar, but admittedly I leveled my ACN to 50 by mostly using SMN, well...because it's easier.

I probably haven't main healed in a dungeon since 35-37 but I feel like jumping back in as main heal in a high level dungeon probably isn't the best idea. Anyone have recommendations for getting back into the swing of things? Maybe re-doing some dungeons at 30, 35, 40, etc? Maybe running newer dungeons as SMN so i get a feel for the strategy first?

Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

I think if you can find some folks to try with, going through the guildhests might be nice for practice.

May need to unlock leves from you starting city, then guildhest / behests afterward to try these out.

Ifrit is a pretty good go to practice w/o being stressed. You have to place / replace your fairy after knockbacks . Got to position yourself well and can weave in aeatherskills and pre-shield ifrits skills. All that without screwing the group if you fail sth course the other healer should be able to soloheal it.

Or empty your skillbar and insert skills for every 5/10 Levels and run dungeons of that lvl. Not as good as leveling up but you´ll get a feeling what thos skills can do and what not. Often dungeons are built for those skills you get 1-2 after being able to enter. Chances are you have to suffer first time. Get the skill and say "boh easy".

Dzemael and Stone Vigil are some decent dungeons to run for a little healing experience. They aren't terribly hard, but in Stone Vigil there's a boss with a teeny bit of AoE damage, the last boss has some mechanics you have to avoid, and some of the enemies can hit pretty hard, teaching you how to do a little bit of everything

Do some lower lvl guilheists/dungeons you'll be back into the swing of things before you know it. There are also some really nice guides that people have made the time to make so look into those as well for tips/tricks and maybe even some macro's to help you out.

You could start at Brayflox and progressively move your way up through the story dungeons as to get a feel for the abilities one by one.

Not necessarily related to the exact topic at hand, but it's interesting how you felt SMN was easier than SCH for leveling. I felt the opposite. I don't dislike SMN at all, but Scholar is capable of very solid dps on its own & has fantastic hands-off longevity.

I'm no fool -- I'm aware a SMN could outpace a Scholar in a straight up DPS race, but the Scholar job has more than enough power to get you through any storymode situation quickly and easily. Plus, having a hands-off healbot follow me around meant I was able to spend more time melting stuff and less time stopping to heal mid-battle.

In the end, both are fantastic & very different from any other class experience in the game.
