Someone on the Zam forums suggested Moogle Mail!

The idea was that you would need to complete a series of quests for the moogles (YAY! Fun Quests!) and as a reward receive a (mog whistle?) (NPC Linkpearl?) to be able to call the moogle couriers.

Once summoned, you can meet the courier at the nearest Aetheryte/Aetherial Node and they can pick up/deliver items to anyone for a fee like huggable, fuzzy Fed Ex.

By restricting access to the Aetherial areas, it keeps it (for lack of a better word) fair, and the fee would provide a little bit of a needed gil-sink. However, I REALLY hope that if this (or similar) is implemented that Square will bump the item slots up from 4. Maybe to 8? Split the difference, and go for 6? *wink wink*
