Yes it can be SE's fault. Especially with over crowded servers. I know for a fact my connection is fine. I average 73 ping and have a 144mb/s connection. So tell me I have a bad connection and that it's not an overloaded server. Too many people on a server causes strain, servers can only handle a limited amount of players, you fill that up and then some and you'll have problems like lag. Sure some of it may be people's connections but it's not the case in all situations of lag. So don't go around blanket statementing that it is. Some places are better then others on a server because there aren't as many connections in that part of the server. Next time learn about what you're talking about before going off and shouting your fool head off.

To people that claim that they don't notice the 0.3s delay programed into the servers. Cast a spell, then move and see how long until it is interrupted.

You should be safe from a enemy move if you are out before the casting ends. You should not have to be outside a second or so earlier. It's just bad programming that they haven't taken into consideration the latency people suffers from. All other games try their best to not have latency being an issue.

Of course there's a lot of things that affect connection stability. Overcrowded servers are one thing. Pretty sure my server is one of the crowded ones, though. But when you have these outliers that get hit 5 seconds after dodging an attack while the rest of the party is fine, I refuse to believe it's the game's fault. Now, that's just what my common sense says. How can it be SE's fault if a connection decides to travel through bad hops or infrastructure, or if the connection location has bad network to begin with?

If the connection is fine and there's still a dodging problem...

    QFT.

Playing as an Australian I've learnt to compensate for latency issues over my MMO history. Welcome to the third world internet North America.

My ping is 157ms. I can get killed by weights behind Titan even though I reach the main tank before they explode. His landslide is aimed to the South and I get hit and fall off from the East... and no, I wasn't even close to him.
So what do I do? I expect a weight to spawn, run in advance and just trap the other players. Pretty good strategy right? >.>

The lag is a legit issue for some players. Don't know about the OP.

the situation like in AK monday, at Demon Wall where after got hit by rebel but you dont see your char got push back and then you begin to move to the side and then sudden get push off the wall, that is lag (can prevent by not move for a while before move to side again but it is not in the topic)

and the situation where you stand in center of WoTL and begin to move after see the plume under your feet and got hit after your char is out of plume, it is not lag - or it is lag but everyone have that issue, not just 1 or 2 persons but many so I no longer conside it as lag

Lag is definitely existent. I usually noticed it a couple of weeks ago every evening from 7-10pm GMT. One time this was happening, we were running Stone Vigil and we wiped on the final boss 4 times because NOBODY was able to evade the AOEs even though everybody had done the boss multiple times before. Everybody in the party could clearly see that everybody else was timing it right and getting out of the way well before the AOE should register but still getting hit.

This dragged on until after 10pm and bam, the lag wave subsided. We succeeded immediately on the 6th try.

Lately it hasn't been so bad. In about 95% of the cases when I play, I am sure that is my fault when I get hit by AOEs. But there are situations when I have to call BS; where I basically know I'm about to get targeted by an AOE, already start moving in advance like a psychic, and STILL get hit even if I use sprint.

People wouldn't complain if they weren't taking this despite having a good internet speed/connection.

"fix server-side lag issues" and "make the game easier" are two completely different things.

    my €0.02:

I can be out of Titan's plumes for .5s and still get hit by them. The only way I got my BLM relic was by moving before either the cast bar or the animation appeared. Had to memorize the rotation, count to two (and a bit) after his last ability and then move.

Is it manageable? sure. Should I have to do this? no.

    My connection is fine btw.
