It's incredible how fiercely some people will insist that their experience is the only experience.

I play from South America. My ping is certainly double of what most of you outside Europe get when playing this game, on top of the actual known 0.3sec server delay. I fight Titan while talking on linkshell chat and eating. Oh, and I should mention I do zoom out the camera.
IE: Yoshi-P is right, "get gud".
Guys,
Frankly, their "attitude" has been one of problem solving when it comes to lag. They gave you a better server architecture, better coding, a Canadian Datacenter. Then more World servers, more Duty Finder servers, more network load adjustments. The list will get longer as time goes by.
What Yoshi P says may not even be dictated by the devs at all. There's another huge department called "Marketing" and Marketing requires that unless problems are solved and in the process of being almost solved, no bad thing shall ever be publicly admitted ever. Yoshi P, being a gamer, likely knows how much trouble people are having on Titan and why, but as of the Live Letter of last week, nothing is wrong. "Please zoom out" until we can resolve whatever lag issue or nerf Titan or whatever.
Give the guy a break and take what they say with a grain of salt. You know, I know, and everyone knows that camera issues are not the problem with Titan. I'm willing to bet that Yoshi knows too.
My roommate was getting horrible lag last night. Failed multiple Titan runs. He then physically plugged his computer into the router and stopped using wifi. Next round was down to 15% and the round after that we won. No more lag. Moral of the story. People should stop using wifi for gaming.
Maybe they're in the process of addressing it.
You're an administrator, then you know better than to expose every flaw and problem in a publicly broadcasted 2 hr commercial for your flagship project.
You of all people should know that until an issue is resolved it isn't discussed with the public.
If you don't know then boy, I'm not sure how you manage to do business.
The difference is that this lag has existed since Beta...In the same instance.
Has it gotten better? Slightly. Only slightly. The CA data center didn't deter the lag because for cross instancing, you're not actually on the CA servers. (This is common sense for any IT)
When the end user can actually sit in a CMD prompt and actually WATCH THE LAG SPIKE, you have a network issue.
When that end user has reported the issue THOUSANDS of times. You now have a priority network issue that needs to be looked at immediately.
When your Producer tells the public "Oh, we have no issues, you're just bad"...While the end user can literally put forth no effort and PROVE an issue -- You now have a group of incompetent people that can't solve their own network issues via a product that the end users actually pay for.
That incompetence needs to be addressed by actually fixing the problem. Not by telling your user base that they're bad. - Business 101.
Titan wasn't in Beta....The difference is that this lag has existed since Beta...In the same instance.

When your Producer tells the public "Oh, we have no issues, you're just bad"..
And Yoshi P didn't say you were bad. Just like with WAR "doing more research", he spouted off his line about zooming out just as filler until the next live letter probably when End game Titan will ACTUALLY BE A TOPIC.
I actually meant the lag as an instance, not the lag in THAT specific instance. I.E. Garuda, Ifrit, AK, WP - Etc. Any dungeon instance.
Zooming out, is in essence, ignoring the problem...A problem that legitimately exists...And basically is telling the end user "We have no issues, you're just bad".
I'm on F/O - Business F/O considering I run several servers. Never lagged in any MMO, until now.
If you run a pathway monitor, you can actually witness the change in ping delay...Happen right before your very eyes.
From an admin perspective, this is extremely simple to check -- You proxy to a NA server location and connection to the game...Takes 2 minutes, literally.
This needs to be addressed, not ignored...And the sheer fact that they fail to address something so simple...Leaves us //all// in a lurch...And makes me wonder why I'm paying $15/month for an admin that's not even capable of doing his/her job.
The idea that they're ignoring the problem and need to "learn to dev" is absolutely laughable.
In Beta, they had so many issues with just the basic functions of logging in and doing content with the duty finder that they had to drop everything. People couldn't create characters, the log in queues were hideous, duty finder borked in spectacular fashion. 1017, 90k, etc. RMTs are trying to wreck the game for the forseeable future, you have issues with lag on a WORLD basis....
And you're saying that because you're still dropping packets then they're ignoring the problem? They had a veritable ketchup bomb go off in the server room and 6 weeks later, after everything is starting to be cleaned up you come on the forums, rub the packet loss with your lily-white silk gloves and say "Poo-poo, you missed a spot, shame on you Cinderella."
They're not ignoring the problem. Maybe they had bigger issues that needed more attention. They'll get to it, just like they got to the rest of the problems.
