    Probably your ridiculous suggestion that any WAR in Coil has more skill than any PLD in Coil. Even if WAR is slightly more complicated to play due to having an actual rotation, neither class is really challenging enough to worry about, and even with pinnacle skill and play a WAR is still at a HUGE disadvantage compared to PLD in coil.

    Its a massive design flaw, migitation tanks scale based on incoming damage levels. Self-healing "leech" tanks scale off their own gear only. You have to outgear the content you are doing as a leech tank, to be on an even footing. When it comes to top level content, you simply cannot out-gear it and so leech tanks suffer.

    Thats all it comes down to, in any RPG its always that way when they design these two separate tanking styles. Its very easy for leech tanks to be obscenely OP, since can effective out heal lower content if they have good gear. So any changes would have to take into account scalability, because of WAR gets a boost to "self healing" to deal with COIL they will become completely OP for lower content.

    I love how someone came along with real math in other threads and showed how WAR IS behind PLD, how that HP difference means nothing etc etc And ppl STILL pretend that people just have not mastered some secret technique WAR possesses. The devs come out and acknowledge the gap between the two, and that coil shows the difference. Because of the way PLD incoming dmg is scaled and WAR is not Things that hit harder show the gap even further. They state they would like to address this, and ppl STILL deny there is a gap. What does it take??

    I mean instead of making dumb statements that "OMG you havnt found WAR Hidden power!!!" Why dont you show the math that shows they are equal? Or show us your video of 2 WARs tanking every turn in Coil.

    in a lot of ways, i like war in my AK WP group way more.

    I feel they give more dps, especially when they don't put up defiance.

    I am sure they have balancing to worry about. Just a slight buff in the wrong direction could turn war into the fotm.

    The good thing about the whole situation is that war is going to get buffed and pld will remain the same. The call for a nerf in pve has always blew my mind.

    I could care less if Joe Blow can 2 shot a boss, as long as that person is on my team I am good. A nerf call should never be called for on the pve side just equalize them like they will attempt w/ war / pld.

    Exactly, I don't mind the difficulty of the encounters, I enjoy the challenge. But its a shame that despite being ilvl 73 and trying as best I can to minmax, I just can't do the content as it makes it incredibly hard for most healers. By the time 2.1 hits all the paladins doing coil in ak/dl will have coil gear while I spend all my myth in a futile attempt to keep up with them.

    Sure, I feel sorry for WAR mains, but that's what the armory system is for, class stacking will always exist, so if you enjoy playing a certain role, you'd better be able to fit both shoes.
    The overwhelmingly potent counterargument to this is the myth cap. Having a myth cap makes it so you have to specialize in one character class for the purposes of minmaxing. If we had myth caps for each job, I would agree with you, but because the opportunity to minmax multiple jobs to the same degree at once isn't there, it means it wasn't designed to be a failsafe method of getting through content in the event of a job imbalance.

    I didn't suggest that, I was just saying that, since who I quoted said 'maybe people on war just don't know how to play; I have a war tank coil just fine' that Wars who make it to that point are already skilled enough to do said content. Not really discussing the disparity between the two tank jobs at that point.

    Meh it's not that long of a wait if you think about it, I'm hoping end of November but most likely it's going to be December. I'd be happy if the update came quick but they need to make sure it's working correctly and play like the players do since they didn't think players would be able to play PLD the way they did. They need to get a test server for players to test the patch before release as the players always comes up with unthinkable ways for the devs to do things, which is what happened with PLD inside Bahamut's Coil.
