starting to wonder whats the point in this game

played since 1.0 beta and now the game is almost unplayable due to duty finder.
you wait ages for a party then someone asks is anyone new soon as someone says yes people quit making it almost impossible to get relic item stones and so on.
RMT's can be seen mining nodes with the teleport cheat market is too week to bother with because of it
thebring back the 1.0 way where you saw the retainers or FFXI auction house style, no matter what you try and sell some bot RMT will under cut you by 1 gil.
addto that the 24/7 spaming from RMT's this is just getting pointless.
I have played FF since nintedo and FFXI 10 years but already asking myself WTF am I wasting my time and money on this for

If someone asks if anyone is new I never say a word .. we wipe sometimes but I gained valuable experience at your expense ... then people quit

Except for the quit when there are first time player, I can't see any of your points that make the game "unplayable".
Even with the quitter problem, I doubt it happens often enough to make the game unplayable.

Game has been very playable for me. I don't use Duty Finder nor the Markets. Friends help with story related instances and there's plenty of shout/organized parties to run content at lvl50. That's just me though, enjoying the battle content.

the quitter issue is actually pretty bad.

for example: i sat in df all day saturday for titan just for some additional rotation experience. in the 16 hours i was in duty finder i only had 2 groups that was willing to actually work towards getting better. the rest either left before the initial engage or after the first wipe. to sit in queue for 30+ min to get into a group only to have the group quit before even engaging titan because a whm is sitting at 3100 hp is pretty bad. it's even worse when thinking you sat in df for 30 min for a 1 min party only to have to leave and queue again for another 30+ min.

You've basically hit the wall that opens up ones eyes to the literal state they're in. The next step is to come to terms with what you want. Do you not find anything enjoyable in the game? Or any MMO in general? Time to move on. No harm, no foul. It happens. We play video games for the experience, and different games provide different methods to gain this experience.

When I was new to MMORPGs 10yrs ago, I played them not knowing what I was really getting myself into. I've experienced the extremities of the MMORPG genre from punishing (FFXI) to facerolling (WoW) that can be provided through these games. I enjoyed my time with all of them. I have questioned "why bother?" numerous times about the MMORPG market in general, and I have always come to the same conclusion. Because I choose to. It's a video game, and I choose to have fun where I can in them. I like playing MMORPGs with friends, similar to how I enjoy playing actual board games with them, watching movies, etc.

The FF series is one that I grew up with. It's something that I have a bias/preference to. I'm not looking for number crunching, nor am I looking for something revolutionary with the MMORPG genre. I'm just looking for MMO fun with an FF feel to it. So far, I think it's doing that job just fine. It isn't FFXI in terms of story and whatnot, but it doesn't have to be. I may not be experiencing endgame raiding, but I don't have to in order to enjoy my time. I'm experiencing the fun of playing the game with people I like, and at a pace that I don't mind going with. When that fun fades, then time to move on. No harm, no foul.

I agree the quitter issue is aggravating, but when you're waiting around in mor dhona for your AK/WP queue to pop you can look at the shouts and sometimes there's shouts for titan not necessarily asking for experienced players (or practice groups). Considering I'd also watched multiple videos describing the fights and had the patterns open in notepad next to the game window, and the group would give several tries I was able to get the experience for the fight. Not saying it's necessary to have full DL for the fight, but if you do you can get into more shout groups easier.
