I'm having a great time! This is the most fun I've had in an MMO in a long time. I love that I'm never sitting still. I always have something to do right at my disposal. I love the music. My favorites are the music in the Shroud, and the Garuda fight. The stories are great too. There were a few points in the main story that really got me. And the archer storyline was intense.

Endgame is a mindless grind for tomes

Abilities that are "instant" aren't instant, still have to wait 0.5-1 sec before being able to cast it

Getting to 50 the first time was fun but after that... meh

The fun stops once you complete the story line. I've unsubbed until 2.1 or any significant content update gives enough reason to rejoin.

I'm very satisfied. Endgame is short on content, but every newly released MMO has that problem. I'm enjoying my time spent playing, and that's all that really counts.

I enjoy what this game has to offer at the moment but I can understand why some people don't.
Still I can only facepalm at the people compairing this game with other mmos which had worse launches and have already years of content added.
Compairing this game with FFXI is a bit unfair because I don't think many of you actually played FFXI when it really came out. Meaning in japan and not the US launch when the game already had over 1 year of added content bug fixes + first expansion included.
Is there stuff in FFXI I wish they would have included in this game. Of course for example I would have loved to have a party system like in FFXI but let's see how this game has evolved once the first expansion hits.

I do find myself having fun playing the game on some days, but it's not too often. Most of the time i just zombie out and play with really no focus @ all. I paid for 90 days so i'll play that duration, but after that i very much doubt i'll be resubbing. I've been having fun with GTA Online a lot and actually playing that way more than FFXIV and it has no sub. But OP i agree, i liked FFXI way more than FFXIV. But not the FFXI that's out now, the FFXI back in 2008 was great. FFXIV just feels souless to me, like there isn't much here but bright lights and pretty graphics. I waited 3 years for this game since i didn't have a good PC and figured i'd just grab it on the ps3. So i guess waiting 3 years and recieving this as the game i waited for did make me feel disappointed. But it's not all bad, i more than got my moneys worth and i did have some fun.

I love all the people complaining about myth tome caps and bc lockouts....pretty naïve when the answer is obvious why they did it. To keep people from blowing through it all in a month with every job.

This is the mmo business. You get a certain amount of content when the game ships. This content will get constantly updated. Some of this takes more time and some content takes less time. But that is one of the aspects people pay a monthly subscription for.

I expect people to be realistic? Tell me what newly launched mmo had more content than its playerbase was able to chew through at launch. your answer is none.

and yes.. I mean no mmo out there dispenses content like that when they first launch....lets not keep the blinders on

Twas fun levelling 1st job to 50. 2nd and more is boring as hell with fates and duty finder. I'm no crafter so that part is who cares...tried it, didn't like it. Gathering is something suited for a bot...of which there are plenty. Endgame is fun for few days then it's just boring tomes farm and crappy coil. Unsubbed today after not playing for two weeks, too many bad things and too few good ones to keep me playing.
