PS3 Freeze Issues.

Recently, within the last 2 days and all day today. My system has been crashing out of the blue. I crashed during entering Limsa Lominsa, and wasn't able to log back in because it would freeze in the logging screen. Other times it would freeze inside the Game. Haven't even played the Game today due to the fact I can't be online without it freezing. Sometimes it won't even let me shut off my PS3 normally, so I'm forced to pull the plug.

I'm skeptical that pulling the plug may be bad for my system and the game itself, leading to more Game freezes. But so far I have noticed nothing that could resolve it, and I haven't seen other PS3 players with the same issue.

Quick Update: I logged in, froze on loading screen. Tried again, went in, then 20mins froze again. I think I'm going to uncheck my credit card information from automated payments and probably consider this game a loss. I could blame my PS3 for not being a Gaming "PC" but this issue is way overly retarded. Good Luck to everyone, hope this doesn't happen to you.

I didn't actually think that this would be happening on the PS3 as well. I'm starting to think that all these issues are actually stemming from Limsa Lominsa itself rather than any congestion issues, or if it is congestion, then it's by far the worst there. I'm playing on the PC version and when I spent a very large amount of time in Gridania I only experienced a couple of crashes, but since moving on to Limsa Lominsa, I crash pretty much every other minute I spend in the city. Out on the field, I'm fine, but sometimes I crash as soon as I enter the city from the field... it's pathetic, really.

If you hold the 0/I button longer it should make a couple of beeps and shutdown.
About the freezing it's probably your PS3 or a lot of people would complain since the hardware is pretty much the same.

It might be overheating. Did you try do undust it a bit? Maybe with a vacuum cleaner at not too high speed.

You should make backups of all of your game saves RIGHT NOW, either to an external device or PS+ cloud. It could just be a bug in ARR, but it could equally be a problem with your PS3 and I'd hate for you to lose all of your game data if your PS3 gets fried.

I've had this a few times today too. Been getting alot of error 9000's and freezing. Also takes about 3 mins for my character to load.

Didn't play yesterday but seems to fit in with your timescale too

I've had this same issue the past couple days. Usually, ps3 won't freeze for hours if at all but the past couple days my system freezes every 30-60 min. Plus, I have this dark/black screen bug that they haven't worked out and now that I've progressed further in the game, I can't just fake my way through a dungeon and hope my screen doesn't black out on me during boss fights...I'm with the OP on this one. I will be turning off my monthly renewal if nothing is done to address these types of issues. They are game breaking and infuriating to say the least.

Had that issue yesterday, and before that the game would crash? Like it would log me out, out of the blue, and take me back to psn home screen.

My PS3 froze yesterday for the first time playing FFXIV.
I was able to log right back in and continue playing the rest of the night without issues.

However, I used to play DCUO and that game froze my PS3 (and pretty much everyone else's too) on a daily basis, sometimes more than once.

I'm not too concerned at this time about one freeze lol.

First; My froze yesterday also for the very first time during one FATE in Northern Thanalan. Music is running with no problem and rest is gone.
As you , It's just one freeze so far but still..

I probably would start to worry though. Many PC players starts to have this issue. It gives me a smile though for everyone reinstalling game / drivers / empty stuff in etc..
It could mean many things yes but this also happens on console as you said where we dont update drivers etc by ourselves.

Ah, You know this chill mats for laptops? the one with 2 fans you put your laptop on? I actually use one frome time to time even if the PS3 is not overheating much but that thing helps a lot!
