    How to fix queue time of DF

    First of all I'd like to say I'm a tank and don't have problems with Duty Finder (instaqueue ^^), but I know lots of people have wait times up to 1~2 hours.

    Anyway, if S-E increase the HP (or DEF) of all the monsters (and bosses) for all the dungeons in the game to 25% and make parties of 5 people - 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 DPS, this could reduce a little the wait time for DPS's. Well, simple increasing the HP (or DEF) will increase the survivability of the monsters making the aditional DPS a good adition, in the same time the damage dealt by monsters will be the same so, 1 tank and 1 healer should be enough to assure the party survival.

    What your thoughts about it? Its a simple sugestion and I want to hear from others what could be made to "lapidate" the idea or maybe some better ideas for the case.

    Honestly, they could just keep increasing the amount of DPS allowed per party until there were no DPS problems if they wanted to.

    But, personally, I find 4 man parties more fun since your contribution to the party isn't diluted by so too many party members.

    You could add a lot more tanking and healing jobs to the game if you wanted to, but it wouldn't solve the problem because most players just want to see the big numbers from being a DD. Add to that that playing a tank or healer generally entails more responsability and increases the probability of you getting yelled at and you can easily see why people don't flock to those types of jobs.

    The only way to avoid these kind of issues is to design a game that doesn't rely on the trinity, which would basically mean that you end up with a Diablo game where every player just does its own thing. I'd rather have trinity mechanics.

    They probably need to introduce more options for tanks/healers, or to make their play style more interesting.

    As it stands, pre-30 here are the class compositions:
    Tanks - 2 (Gladiator and Marauder)
    DPS - 5 (Lancer, Pugilist, Archer, Thaumaturge, Arcanist)
    Healer - 1 (Conjurer)

    Post-30:
    Tanks - 2 (Paladin and Warrior)
    DPS - 5 (Dragoon, Monk, Bard, Black Mage, Summoner)
    Healers - 2 (White Mage and Scholar)

    Basically, what I'm trying to say here is that there's way too many DPS classes, combined with the fact that DPS classes are by far more popular than tank or healer classes, we're looking at a 1:4 ratio for Tank + Healer vs. DPS (DPS count increased because of the fact there are more DPS players than tanks or healers) - just something exaggerated, I don't have actual figures, but it's kinda something like that. There's an overpopulation of DPS, compared to tanks or healers, which also makes up 50% of a DF party.

    As far as I know, it seems to be a common MMO design problem. Best option for a DPS would be to find a tank/healer to party with really...

    It's not as simple as you think, the game is designed from ground up with 4 players group in mind. Not so big deal for the trash mobs, but could have big impact on BOSS fights.
    I can only hope when more ppl max their first choice job, some of them will level up a tank/healer class so if they find DD queue time is too long, they can just queue as Tank/Healer.
    Although I'm not currently planning to level a second class since I hate doing FATE....

    Agree with both of you, but my sugestion was to be a "workaround" or palliative solution because I think for DPS's is frustating waiting and they don't want to wait till patch 2.1 to see more tank/healer classes to be added to make things faster for them, this is something for them just "Wow, we can make this, I have nothing to do this weekend, I'll implement these changes" (I know is not like that :P).

    For the fact that lesser people want to play as tank or healer I'd like to suggest classes for healers/tankers that are lesser "gay" than the ones that exists XD, maybe hiring a ocidental to design new classes based on the role model of the ocidentals (this is just a joke, I really think the actual classes are somehow "feminine" but I know this is not the real motive for players to not play as healer/tank, and I don't want to offend anyone - just to be clear).

    the one issue is it takes a certain type of player to be either a healer or tanking class. i don't mind healing, but tanking i cannot stand for example. i would rather be a ranged dd or healer. the problem is there's very few with the mentality that they enjoy to tank the mob or heal the group. it's more rare to find someone that enjoys putting others first in the healer role or main tank than it is to find someone that just wants to beat on things.
