Cannot progress in Storyline

I have sent in an In-Game report and a FFXIV ticket with yet to receive a response after 3 days, here is my third attempt to try to get some help.

After i completed the mission "Back from the Wood" when i was level 26 i did not receive a follow-up quest "Shadow of Darkness". Shadow of Darkness is initiated with Minfilia which i did not learn until later when i noticed i was level 30 and i had no Story to pick up anywhere.

I have re-installed Final Fantasy XIV twice now, sent in tickets which i have no way of finding or checking the status on and live chat is non existent. Included is an image of what i see in-game along with the previous completed and current missions displaying i have not and cannot receive the mission in question.

This quest is available after completing Shadow of Darkness. Speak with Hihibaru in Eastern Thanalan at X20-Y21. He will have you speak with 3 nearby NPC's, then return to him to complete the quest.

Don't skip dialogues since probably they point you to your next location.

What i said above is that Shadow of Darkness is not available to me to accept, as in, i have not done it/can not obtain it/it is not completed, the quest you have provided is after Shadow of Darkness.

This quest is available after finishing Back from the Wood. Speak with Minfilia in the Waking Sands, in Western Thanalan.

Though, My IRL friend completed that "Back from the woods" and I see on lodestone he got the achievement also and he can still quest it seems.
Did you try go to Uldah and look? , or even Highbridge? (should only be 3 quests or so visible).

Tried to leave walking sands , (to the city outside) and go back in?

Just a thought, since I don't recall this quest (there are so many that they blur), is this NPC involved in any other quests you have? FFXI was littered with case of quest chains stalling due to an NPC being used for several and at times one chain would get blocked if another was open.

Your best bet is to use the live chat. Odds are the email response to your ticket will direct you there anyways. The fix may require a change to character data and they will only do that over live chat where the tech can do identity verification. It sounds like somehow the server updated your log but hiccuped and didn't change the quest flag.

Did you talk to Tataru outside, before going down the steps? If I remember right, you talk to her, go down and get a cut scene as you approach the doors or Milfina's desk. Then you target Milfina and talk to her again.

Thank you very much, that is what i am missing, what i find interesting is i ended up leaving this npc when he had nothing to offer.
