I agree with this. When the limit gauge is no longer full the damage should be done with the animation as a fancy addition for cool factor, OR the LB is not used until AFTER the animation is complete.
I agree with you OP. This same thing happens to me quite often in AK. When trying to take down one of the bees, Im constantly killed by the pools when I finish the animation.
The same thing happened when using the LB on Titans Heart. While in the animation, he popped landside which I was caught in, because of the animation.
To be fair...you do like 15k damage with it so...It's fine. Just be smart about when you use it.
Lol, I had summoner in group, he start casting Limit break on titan, 1 sec later landslide hit him, but the limit break went off.. but didnt do any damage at all cause he died, basically just wasted limit break as well. (We cant help but burst laughin at him for that. Although i think that is issues that it didnt going off even though the bar limit break is gone.)

sounds like one of those dps who would LB ifirit before he jumps and readies his charge
Anyway, if you complain as a DPS, healer have it worst. animation where we actually freeze, then raise animation too on everyone

For the Gnats IDK what Job you are on but I play MNK and like to save Shoulder Tackle for the left one as soon as it spawns which stuns him and then I LB if we don't have enough DPS to kill the wall and let the tank hold the gnats. Also for DRG Spineshatter Dive works great brings you to target and stuns and you should have enough time to lb and move to the middle.I agree with you OP. Yes this gets really annoying. A lot of my AK runs I go with a BRD so Its up to me to LB. I never really have problems but its up to me to decide when its time to LB not when the tank or whoever else is in the pt.
No, youre not getting it. So basically, out of all the things that went wrong ... youre gonna go after the LB animation, hmm? You hit the LB too late... simple as that. The ONLY way LBs would be broken is if a player can do more DPS with a regular rotation vs an LB. Highly doubt thats the case. Even so, LBs are an optional "oh sh*t" moment button ... theyre not even needed. If the group wiped it was the groups fault ... not LB.
"youre gonna go after the LB animation, hmm" what? TBH with an LB which usually does around 5k DMG I'm sure a MNK/DRG could do that much by the time its over LB2 or LB3 no. It was an Oh crap button I used it because it should have killed the boss and saved the horrible run I was in it took 6 tries to kill the boss and it wasn't anything on my end.No, youre not getting it. IDK why I'm having to defend myself because the delay after the LB is done. When the Limit Break Bar(s) is gone the Damage should be applied not wait 2-3sec after I land and hit the ground. It may never happen to you but I'm wiling to bet that one day that LB will make or break a run for someone when the run actually matters.
Perhaps they need to implement some kind of a stun to the monster when using LB. Make sure it can't be exploited, and that should take care of most concerns. ASA the Animation starts, the mob should be in a stunned state unable to act. Its either that or make it where the DMG is done at the start of the animation, but have the mob react to the death after animation is done. That way its at 0 health, unable to act, and your animation doesn't get you fried. I guess those two are kinda the same, but that's what I think is needed. I really like some of these animations even after seeing them a 100 times, I'd hate to see them shortened, when there are clearly easier ways to deal with the situation.
