Why is it so hard to find a group

Jeez, firstly I never thought I would play an MMO where it is difficult to get a group as a healer. It shouldnt be possible, but it is. The Duty finder fast enough and no one uses it because inevitably you get someone that has no business being in a dungeon.

You need some sort of gear lock outs for the dungeons (like in other MMO's) to try and build peoples confidence in the duty finder, otherwise scores of players are going to get board and leave!

Please provide info on MMO game that does a better job of helping you find a group than FF14.

Join a Free Company and run dungeons with people in the Free Company.

I did and went from 40 minute DPS queues to almost instant.

There are a myriad of ways to find a group. Usually people are shouting for specific classes in Mor Dhona or sometimes in Grand Cities too.

Aside from that, there are LSes one can ask. Most people tend to have at least one or two LSes and it's too easy to ask a buddy "Hey, can you maybe find another person that can join us?" and what-not.

Not only that, be sure and edit your search info to let people know what type of dungeons you're looking for. In addition, there's always the Duty Finder at earlier levels of dungeons.

There are plenty of options. I don't think that it's hard to get a group unless you're specifically standing and being a mute wanting someone to invite you because you're a particular class. If people are shying away from you, be sure to shout that you're a WHM looking to make people feel good in battle. They'll jump on it.

I'd suspect that a lot of those players (myself included) do things with people we know/made friends with, rather than rely on randoms. The fun to be had with playing with friends is so much better than playing with randoms, some of which aim to ruin any chance of people having fun. Once people find like-minded players to play the game with, you really never go back to randoms unless you absolutely have to. Essentially, you're playing the game in the most optimal way, and pretty much always means that you're having the most fun with your time spent, as opposed to those who choose not to take such initiatives (like making friends).

Read all the letters from the developers. They already ARE introducing a gear dependent duty finder. If your ilevel/weapon/armor isn't good enough, you can't que for the dungeon.

Wait, what? My ques as healer is never more than 15 mins unless it's super duper late night. Even then....

As a 100% DF only player, only times I get long waits are on Mondays and that is because everyone is log jamming the AK instance servers to get their weekly mythos runs done.

This is an MMO, it's all about connecting with other players. When I started out, while lvling up I friended almost everyone I came in contact with, even random people I raised and told them if they ever needed a tank to let me know. Now that everyone is at end-game, I have a friendlist filled with so many people looking to run things I rarely need to use the Duty Finder for anything.

You are complaining about it being difficult to get a party as a healer, are you for real!? The duty finder queues are almost instant as a healer. Try being DPS and see where you get then. I honestly don't know what your problem is, sounds like you had one bad group and want to make up an issue that does not exist.
