Can we have the world transfer extended?

I have some friends who picked up FFXIV because I've been talking about it a lot and we all want to play together. Unfortunately, I'm on Hyperion (Legacy) and the times that they were attempting to make new characters, creation was restricted. Now they've made characters on other servers, just to start playing, but because their characters are too new, they can't be transferred and free transfers end tomorrow.

So a limited amount of time was given to do world transfers, but people have to wait a certain amount of time after creating a character for it to be possible. My character could be transferred, and I'd gladly transfer it to their world, but I'm on a Legacy world (I was here during version 1.0) and they're on a new world where the transfer is only allowed in one direction - from non-legacy to legacy. I can't get out because of the transfer restriction, and they can't get in because of time limits.. and the free transfers end tonight.

I don't want to make a new character as it's my legacy character that I've put dozens if not hundreds of hours into. Their characters are newer, but they've still gotten really into the game and have played for over 20 hours this weekend, which would suck to redo and shouldn't be needed.

This is a really crappy situation to be in, as we all have this game that we want to play together but we can't. The only way we can in the future is to pay $25 per person to move once some of these restrictions lift; which we don't even know when that will happen. We will be stuck paying to fix something that came about due to Square's server instabilities and restrictions and that just rubs me wrong. Will there be no other solution?
