Even if they had upgrades for your gear, people would still whine about either the drop rate, difficulty or time it takes to do it. This player base is full of people that cannot be pleased.problem is even with 2 hard mode dungeons , 2 nightmare primals and CT if none of that offers any type of progression for your main then everyone will just run it once to see it .. or run all that stuff to gear out alts and skip the darklight farm.
That is all fine but the problem is running that stuff for gear on alts wont hold peoples interest for 4 more months
ilvl90 is the highest you can get until 2.2. ilvl80 is "middle ground" gear that shouldn't be gated. If it isn't gated then work on those gear as well as doing your " 2 hour tomb grind".seriously though i really hope 2.1 isnt full of item level 80 gear
I do agree that they shouldn't be gating content, but they are doing it so people don't blow through the content, then people REALLY complain that there's nothing to do on their character.
This is a New MMO ( some people can claim it's not that it's 3 years old but whatever :P), and as a New MMO, people should have known FFXIV ARR wouldn't come with a lot of end-game. ( which is why I made a brand new character), instead of using my All 50's character).

I spread my adventure per week out over the whole week. By having adventure. It is a sad, sad thing that you look at this game like a chore. Perhaps -- just a thought, here -- this isn't the game for you.
And many other MMOs I have played had white knights just like you saying the same things...leave, go away, this game is not right for you, etc. It's like clock work.
So people take that advice and slowly but surely the game becomes a ghost town and then the white knights are baffled as to why it happened. Server merges plx!
On topic, I hope they rethink CK release: I would put it at max tier simply because by the time 2.1 hits the scene (dec/jan/even later?); most of the HC guilds capable of putting together a raid to run it will have way better gear from coil/mythos. Seems so very backwards nulling content even before it's put in game.

Just curious.
People keep saying Crystal Tower will provide iLv 80 gear. Is this from:
1. Official source such as live letters, publicized interviews? If so could anyone please provide a source?
2. "It must be so because iLv 80 gear is missing" logic.
Which one is it? I'm genuinely curious.

Logic and common sense that if CT is designed and was designed to be done before coil but after relic quest it's going to be full of ilvl 80 gear. (Also dats but that's a difference story.)Just curious.

But Yoshida said BC is designed so you don't need CT. That was only last month. ?_?

Yeah it's not a requirement and for the most part, except for turn 4 you can actually do turn 1 and 2 without being FULL decked out - so it was intended that people did CT before going into BC in terms of difficulty/gear progression much like it was intended for people to do WP before AK.
Agreed! I feel like some people just want to get the very best ( but they always seem like they aren't having any fun doing it) which makes it a chore. Games are suppose to entertain not "feeling" like work.It is a sad, sad thing that you look at this game like a chore.

I stopped reading after first post. Already see where this thread is going.
Same place as the other 200. Enjoy.
