    One time password App

the One time password app seems to be reseted when wipping the cache on android phones, you should look into this, important information like this SHOULD NOT BE SAVED IN CACHE MEMORY!. i get locked out of my account everytime i have to do a cache wipe on my phone.

this only happens with SE onetime password app.

    battle.net authenticator does not reset
google authenticator app does not reset..

    please fix?

The more I read about the one time passkey apps on smartphones, the better I like my physical token.

I have never had any issues in iOS with Google or Blizzards aside from Blizzards after I restored my phone (this was before the Blizzard app had recovery codes built in).

For some reason I just don't trust SE's. But I still have my keyfob from back when they were added to FFXI so meh.

I switched from having my original FFXI hardware token to Android version over a month ago and I haven't had any problems with it, works perfectly and it's much more convenient as I always have it on me. The software token also gave me an emergency removal password, something the hardware one never did...

From what the original poster has said if I clear Android's cached applications it'll wipe the configuration data, but with all due to respect to OP, unless you're changing ROMs, there's no real reason to be clearing either of the caches anyway unless you have problems with something else (and if you're changing ROMs you should expect to have to set the token back up anyway). Just to clarify though as I'm curious, are you talking about the application cache partition or the dalvik-cache?

This does explain why Titanium Backup doesn't work with this application though, never occurred to be that the configuration might not be stored in the normal data directory!

I don't know about resetting caches manually, but I can tell you every time I've tried to set up the SE one-time password app on my phone it looses it's configuration data after about an hour of the phone being idle. So long as I don't let the device sleep (screen power off) it's fine. But if it sleeps for more than an hour, the next time I launch the SE app it wants to be setup like it's brand new. This makes the one-time password system completely useless.

I also have the Blizzard authenticator app, it works fine. My phone is fairly new (Galaxy S4), with the most current standard ROM available (I don't jail-break or root my phones). So this is completely SE's problem.

    to worldofneil:

its the the cache memory wiped on recovery, this is an essential step on rom installation, performance tweaks and any other Android customization, i allways do a back up with my backup root (pro) , but since SE APP CONFIGURATION IS ON CACHE MEMORY AND NOT IN ITS APP DATA NON CACHE MEMORY FOLDER, when backed up it dosent back up the settings and i have to go do all the secret removal and re enter the onetime password info..
